Florida Studio Theatre presents Bright Star, the five-time Tony-nominated musical and winner of the 2016 Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding New Broadway Musical. Called a?oeShininga?? and a?oeOutstandinga?? by The Observer, Bright Star tells an inspiring story of forbidden love, betrayal, and the power of compassion.

This week, Molly Smith and the cast of Anything Goes at Arena Stage chose to honor and support Indigenous Peoples' Day (Oct 8). Just as those at sea use Morse code to send SOS alerts, the cast of Anything Goes -- joined by Molly's partner, Suzanne Blue Star Boy -- taps out a call to action in the video below to bring awareness to the epidemic of murdered, kidnapped, and missing Native women in the United States and Canada:

MODERN FAMILY star Sarah Hyland is currently appearing in the musical SCREAM! alongside Jonah Platt, Missi Pyle, Christine Lakin, and Nicole Parker. This month's special guests were Euan Morton (Taboo), Audra Mae (Recording Artist), Jimmy Ray Bennet (Nuclear Family), Todd Buonopane (30 Rock, Grease), and from the Book of Mormon National Tour: Michael Buchanan (The Addams Family, Cry Baby), Marisha Wallace (Rent, Sistas!), JR Bruno (West Side Story), Daniel Le Claire (Hairspray), and Samantha Marie Ware (The Lion King, Rent). La Jolla Playhouse presents a new adaptation of Sleeping Beauty Wakes, book by Tony Award-winning librettist Rachel Sheinkin (The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee), with a score by composer Brendan Milburn and lyricist Valerie Vigoda, both of the acclaimed trio GrooveLily (Striking 12, Long Story Short), and directed by Rebecca Taichman, who will also direct The Playhouse's 2011/12 world premiere of Milk Like Sugar. A co-production with Princeton's McCarter Theatre Center, Sleeping Beauty Wakes runs July 19 - August 21 in the Mandell Weiss Theatre. The production, which runs through June 5, is directed by Rebecca Taichman, who delighted McCarter audiences with her 2009 production of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night. McCarter Theatre is proud to announce complete casting and creative team for Sleeping Beauty Wakes, a new musical featuring a book by Rachel Sheinkin (The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee), and a score by composer Brendan Milburn and lyricist Valerie Vigoda, both of the acclaimed trio GrooveLily. The production, which runs from April 29 through June 5, will be directed by Rebecca Taichman, who delighted McCarter audiences with her 2009 production of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night. Opening Night is set for Friday, May 6. Following the McCarter run, the production will move to La Jolla Playhouse.
