The New York premiere production of Los Otros, a musical in one act with book & lyrics by Tony Award nominee Ellen Fitzhugh (Grind, Paradise Found) and music by five-time Tony Award nominee Michael John LaChiusa (The Wild Party, Giant), will star Luba Mason and Caesar Samayoa.

On the Verge Theatre has announced the cast for Runaways, playing August 5 – August 21, 2022.

The Jimmy Awards have just announced this year’s 92 nominees, coming from 46 high school musical theatre awards competitions across the U.S. The show will feature dynamic ensemble and solo performances and will culminate with the presentation of a Best Performance by an Actress and Best Performance by an Actor award, as well as other honors and scholarships. Winners will be chosen by a panel of industry experts.

The Tony Awards and Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) announced today that drama teacher Roshunda Jones-Koumba of G. W. Carver Magnet High School in Houston will receive the 2022 Excellence in Theatre Education Award.

The 2022 Tommy Tune Awards from Theatre Under The Stars (TUTS) held virtually once again this year, premiered at 7 p.m. tonight on the musical theatre company’s Facebook page and YouTube channel.

New Line Theatre, “the bad boy of musical theatre,” has announced its 31st season of adult, alternative musical theatre, including the wild musical comedy SOMETHING ROTTEN, running Sept. 22-Oct. 15, 2022; followed by the electrifying concept musical, NINE, based on Federico Fellini's iconic film 8 1/2, running March 2-25, 2023; and the season closes with one of the great Stephen Sondheim's earliest works, the hilarious farce, A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM, based on the Roman comedies of Plautus, running June 1-24, 2023.

Award-winning playwright Fred Gordon's new play AMERICAN MU$CLE will have its World Premiere at The New York Theater Festival in June. Opening night is slated for Monday, June 13 at 9pm at Teatro Latea on The Lower East Side. The production is directed by David F.M. Vaughn who previously directed two plays by Gordon.

The Town Hall & Mark Cortale will continue with the latest installment of the internationally acclaimed concert series Seth Rudetsky's Broadway, hosted and music directed by Sirius/XM Radio star Seth Rudetsky at The Town Hall (123 W. 43rd Street). On Monday, June 20 at 8pm, Seth welcomes platinum recording artist and star of stage and screen Vanessa Williams.

The 10th annual “Night Of A Thousand Judys” – the Pride concert to benefit The Ali Forney Center written and hosted by Justin Elizabeth Sayre – will take place at Joe’s Pub on Sunday, June 5. 

Birdland presented singer/actress Karen Akers, who premiered a brand new, very personal concert on Monday, April 25.  The show, titled “Water Under The Bridge,” was musical directed by Alex Rybeck, with Tom Hubbard on bass.
