The Times Square Alliance has announced the return of its Annual Taste of Times Square, one of New York City’s longest-running outdoor food festivals highlighting the global cuisine available in the district.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams and Manhattan District Attorney Alvin L. Bragg, Jr. will launch the launch of the Midtown Community Improvement Coalition, a new interagency quality of life improvement hub that brings together law enforcement, elected officials, and community and business leaders to address public safety and quality of life issues in Midtown Manhattan.

Just last night, New 42 presented  their annual gala at the Plaza Hotel, titled Celebrating Times Square: Every Corner Tells a Story and recognizing the vital role that exposure to the performing arts for young people plays in the cultural and economic vibrancy of Times Square and New York City. This spring, the Times Square Alliance will ramp up their plaza programming, marking the district’s most robust season of open-air live offerings to-date. TSQ LIVE will feature music, dance, comedy and more—free and accessible to the growing number of New Yorkers and visitors alike headed to the Crossroads of the World.

Times Square Arts, the largest public platform for contemporary performance and visual arts, is pleased to present THE POEM, an immersive public art installation by Cuban artist Raúl Cordero. The public unveiling will feature remarks from  Raúl Cordero and a choral performance by Peace of Heart Choir to officially welcome the public to the installation. The unveiling will take place at 2pm EST today, April 8th, in Times Square’s Duffy Square.

Mayor de Blasio today announced details for a scaled back Times Square New Year’s Eve, with additional protections in place to ensure a safe celebration. In addition to requiring proof of full vaccination and being outdoors, attendees will also be required to wear masks. Viewing areas will be filled with fewer people to allow for social distancing.

Broadway Buskers, Times Square Alliance’s concert series celebrating the performers and singer-songwriters of the theater community, will return to the Plazas of Times Square in anticipation of Broadway’s reopening this fall.

The New York Comedy Festival announced today, the official return of the highly anticipated, week-long celebration of laughs, set for November 8-14, 2021. Caroline Hirsch, the founder and owner of the NYCF, made the official announcement of the festival’s 2021 edition, alongside Mayor de Blasio at City Hall in New York City.

Brand New Day will feature musical performances, a fashion runway show, and dancing in the streets live in Times Square (W 43rd Street & 7th Avenue) on Friday, June 11, 2021 at 11 AM.
