Ahead of it's premiere at the BFI London Film Festival, Netflix has shared new photos from its upcoming film adaption of Matilda the Musical. Check out new stills of Emma Thompson, Alisha Weir, Lashana Lynch, Andrea Riseborough, Stephen Graham, Sindhu Vee, Charlie Hodson-Prior, and more in the upcoming movie musical!

The soundtrack features GRAMMY and Tony Award-nominated songs from the original West End production written by Tim Minchin and performed throughout the film, as well as an original score by composer Christopher Nightingale. The cast of the new film includes Emma Thompson, Lashana Lynch, Andrea Riseborough and Stephen Graham, and Alisha Weir.

To celebrate the new cast beginning performances at the Cambridge Theatre, the Royal Shakespeare Company’s Matilda The Musical has released all new production photos.

'Matilda - the musical' has wit, intelligence, heart and soul. To see this again in its Norwegian incarnation is, as the opening song says 'A miracle'. Many young stars were born yesterday at Folketeatret in Oslo.

An adaptation of the Tony and Olivier award-winning musical, Roald Dahl’s Matilda The Musical tells the story of Matilda Wormwood (Alisha Weir), a little girl with big curiosity, a sharp mind and a vivid imagination — and the worst parents in the world. The film will also include Emma Thompson, Lashana Lynch, Stephen Graham and Andrea Riseborough.

​​​​​​​Ravinia's fall-spring Bennett Gordon Hall concert series returns in 2022-23 for the first time since 2019 and will include 22 festival premieres. The concerts run from Oct. 15 through May 5 in Ravinia's most intimate space, the 450-seat Bennett Gordon Hall. It mirrors the celebrated festival season by showcasing a variety of talented artists across several genres, including classical and jazz, as well as a popular children's musical theatre.

Internet sensation Gabbi Bolt has finally arrived at the Edinburgh Fringe, bringing her debut solo show with her all the way from Australia.

The Chaser's Charles Firth, The Shovel's James Schloeffel and Mark Humphries (ABC-TV's 7:30) have teamed up again this year to produce “The War on 2022”, an end of year live show with Australia's leading satirists.  

For this video, Ivywild collaborated with world-renowned video artist and animator Tee Ken Ng, whose animations have been recognized for their inventiveness and for pushing the boundaries of the medium. 

The Young Company Summer Festival, performed by students in grades 4-12, brings together budding young artists and their professional teams to present jaw dropping storytelling at its finest.

New casting has been announced for the Royal Shakespeare Company's West End production of Matilda The Musical which is now in its 10th year and continues to play to packed houses at the Cambridge Theatre.

Over the course of her first term at school, Matilda and Miss Honey have a profound effect on each other's lives, as Miss Honey begins not only to recognize but also appreciate Matilda's extraordinary personality. Matilda's school life isn't completely smooth sailing, however – the school's mean headmistress, Miss Trunchbull, hates children and just loves thinking up new punishments for those who don't abide by her rules. But Matilda has courage and cleverness in equal amounts, and could be the school pupils' saving grace! Berkeley Playhouse announced its 14­­th mainstage season of musical productions that will kick off this fall. The 2022/23 Season begins in September with In the Heights, the Tony Award-winning musical from the creator of Hamilton. November opens with Roald Dahl's Matilda the Musical.

The Royal Shakespeare Company has refreshed its education activity for Matilda The Musical to include a comprehensive planning guide for schools. The new guide, developed in close consultation with teachers, includes everything needed to plan, book and take a school trip to the Cambridge Theatre.

The upcoming film adaptation of Matilda the Musical will open this year’s BFI London Film Festival. The annual festival is scheduled for October 5-16.
