Now accepting new works for the third annual and virtual Rogue Theater Festival! Rogue is looking for new works by emerging writers and artists. The festival encourages anyone who feels they have something to say to submit their piece. Rogue believes in equal opportunity for all.

C. Kidz Theatre School presents Next Act, a series of theatre classes that will be available for kids to take from home!

Coming this spring, The Way Off Broadway Dinner Theatre will lovely skewer musical theatre, stage mothers, and ambitious child stars in its production of Ruthless! The Musical.  As previously announced by the theatre's producers, due to current health and safety protocols in place limiting cast sizes, Ruthless! The Musical has taken the place of Oliver!, which had originally been announced for the 2021 Season.

Today on Friday, October 16th at 7pm, a special virtual reading of 'One Empire, Under God' - Anthony J. Piccione's new full-length drama exploring religious extremism & right-wing populism - will be broadcast via Zoom to monthly patrons on Patreon, as well as selected invited guests. Immediately after the reading, there will be a talkback - moderated by co-producer Jay Michaels - featuring the playwright, director & cast.

How is Bravo the Theatre Dog celebration International Dog Day you ask? By preparing for next week's story time, of course! Bravo and his pals, Brenda Bell, Michael Sgouros, Emily Sgouros, and other crucial members of the Players Theatre have been hosting musical story time every Tuesday since New York City first shut down in March. And although things are slowing starting to open up, including Bravo's Book Nook shop reopening in June, Bravo still loves to host readings online every Tuesday.

a??a??a??a??a??a??a??Although the theme for Be Bold Production's June Short Play Festival has been 'NYC' for the past 10 years, it couldn't have been more poignant this year. The producer for the festival, Brenda Bell, held out as long as possible in hopes that maybe things could be 'better enough' by June to host the festival live as planned in The Player's Theatre's blackbox with maybe some added social distancing and health measures. But as April ate into May and June began without much progress on the Covid-19 front, Bell made the executive decision to 'give this Zoom thing' a try and make the summer's festival entirely remote and online.

Award-winning Bayonne, NJ-based actor Dan Gregory is this week's special guest on New York City-based actor and cabaret star Stephen S. Miller's 'The Mama Rose Show,' on which Gregory revealed exclusively that he has been cast in the lead role in the horror film 'Cult of Blood' that is set to start production in spring 2021.

Mommy Milk Cafe is a new hilarious short play written by Asian American writer and actress Sara States. It will be premiered online with Be Bold Productions as part of The Players Theatre Short Play Festival.

Herman is known for his work on Broadway classics such as Hello, Dolly!, Mame, La Cage Aux Folles, Dear World, Mack & Mabel, The Grand Tour, Milk & Honey and many more. He has been nominated for five Tony Awards, and won twice, for Hello, Dolly! and La Cage Aux Folles. He received a Lifetime Achievement Tony Award in 2009, and a Kennedy Center Honors in 2010.

Bravo's Book Nook, at 115 MacDougal St in Greenwich Village, has this week reopened to customers after closing due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The submission deadline for Be Bold Production's 10th Annual Short Play Festival - NYC has been extended to April 30th, 2020 at 5:00pm. The theme of this festival, NYC, beckons writers to focus on New York City in all its grit and glory.

Bravo will be back on Tuesday, April 14th at 2pm for another story time! Although his mom, Brenda, continues to battle those pesky technology mishaps, Bravo is determined to persist. He commented 'look, we're theatre people (and well, dog). My mom [Brenda] is way more accustomed to live performances and hates having to fuss around with 'going digital'. BUT I assured her that all my friends and fans wanted to stay connected and so they can see how badly I miss their bellyrubs and cheeks for kisses!'

Artists are lucky because at least they have their imaginations to get them through these surreal times. The Players Theatre Short Play & Musical festival is encouraging all mandated shut-in writers to use this unprecedented time to be creative and submit a short play or musical for their 10th annual June Festival - NYC.

Theater Resources Unlimited (TRU) announces the return of Practical Playwriting: How to Write for Commercial Production 2020 on Saturday, March 14, 2020 from 10am to 5:30 pm at Clinton Cameo Studios, 307 W. 43rd Street, Studio A.
