This evening, the 2023 Helen Hayes Awards took place at The Anthem on the District Wharf, with over 1,600 theatre-makers and theatre supporters in attendance. Esteemed Washington theatre artists Naomi Jacobson, Erika Rose, Holly Twyford, and Christopher Michael Richardson hosted an evening showcasing the vibrant and diverse community of professional theatre artists in the Washington region.

Rising artist Abraham Alexander is hitting the road with The Lumineers this summer for a string of shows across the U.K. and Europe, as well as select solo dates in Amsterdam, Paris, Glasgow and London. He’ll also be performing at this year’s Bonnaroo, Newport Folk Festival, Austin City Limits and more.

This is the towering achievement of actor Victor Raider-Wexler as he conjured up the living being of Westport clothier and Harry Truman presidential buddy Eddie Jacobson for two only performances at the White Theatre inside the Jewish Community Center in Overland Park on May 13 and May 14.

Jeremy Strong (Succession) will star in a new Broadway production of Henrik Ibsen’s AN ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE, featuring a new adaptation by Amy Herzog, directed by Tony Award- winner Sam Gold. The production will premiere on Broadway in early 2024 at a theater to be announced.

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts has announced its 2023–2024 Performances for Young Audiences season, filled with diverse, memorable adventures in theater, dance, and music that will entertain and engage audiences of all ages.

Richmond Shakespeare and Agecroft Hall & Gardens announced the 24th Annual Richmond Shakespeare Festival. The festival will run from June 1 through July 30, 2023, Thursday through Sunday evenings at 7:30p.
