After a year of primarily virtual performances, Dallas Children's Theater (DCT) is planning to open its doors to in-person audiences once more. As the world continues to work its way through the many COVID challenges, DCT hopes to offer some reprieve in the form of a family-friendly season focused on Brighter Days. The 2021-2022 season of plays is filled with heartwarming, hopeful tales, and lots of laughter. Warmth and energy sit at the core of each play in this streamlined season beginning with a hearty welcome-back experience titled CIRCO METROPOLIS on September 18.
It's a celebration of Thomas 'Fats' Waller, the stride pianist and composer who became a Harlem legend defining the jazz of the 20s and 30s. Rowdy and fun, Ain't Misbehavin' is a joyous celebration of the return of theatre. Ain't Misbehavin' opens at Pioneer Theatre Company (PTC) September 10, 2021 and runs through September 25, 2021.

Last seen in the title role of Aladdin, Telly Leung (he/him) lends his talents to “The World Was Dancing” for the evening. Another Aladdin alum, Michael James Scott (he/him) will take on the soaring, penultimate number “Flying Home” before returning to the New Amsterdam this fall. Following her recent turn in the Broadway company of Wicked, Tony nominee Nancy Opel (she/her) will show off her comedic chops in “Just One Step,” while Bre Jackson (The Color Purple, The Book of Mormon; she/her) gives voice to “The Flagmaker, 1775.”
The Way Off Broadway Dinner Theatre is preparing for a heartwarming romantic comedy this fall when its production of the Broadway classic The Pajama Game takes to the stage. Opening Friday, September 10th, the production was rescheduled from earlier this season.

Happily audiences returned to Shea's Theatre last night for the first time in 504 days, after the Broadway tour of HELLO DOLLY closed abruptly due to a pandemic that changed the world forever. Shea's President Michael Murphy welcomed the audience back to in person entertainment last night with a slick and uplifting musical concert, THE MUSIC OF DISNEY ON BROADWAY.
The Music of Disney on Broadway: A Live Concert at Shea’s Buffalo Theatre, celebrating the reopening of Shea’s Buffalo Theatre will treat audiences to the most-beloved hit songs from Disney’s Broadway shows – including “Beauty and the Beast,” “A Whole New World,” “Circle of Life” and “Let it Go”.
The concert marked the first live performance in the New Amsterdam Theatre since all of Broadway shut down in March of last year. The concert benefits The Actors Fund, who have provided support to members of the entertainment industry throughout the pandemic.
