Lakewood Theatre Company will begin its 71st season with six productions on its Mainstage and three productions on its Side Door Stage beginning July 14, 2023.  

Kristen Coury, CEO and Producing Artistic Director of Gulfshore Playhouse, has announced their complete 2023-2024 season. Due to construction delays caused by Hurricane Ian, the new The Baker Theatre and Education Center will open in 2024. As such, Gulfshore Playhouse will produce the 2023-2024 season in the Norris Center.

There’s really nothing better for what ails you – particularly on a cold, wet and dreary Sunday afternoon – than a stroll down memory lane, thanks to a tuneful trip to the 1950s and ‘60s with The Marvelous Wonderettes, a nostalgic and enormously entertaining musical revue by Roger Bean.

The Wonderettes Company, in collaboration with Magic Bean Theatricals, has just announced the commercial release of the Original Cast Album for the all-new version of The Andrews Brothers by Roger Bean, creator of The Marvelous Wonderettes. The album features Jonathan Arana, David Engel, Larry Raben, and Krystle Rose Simmons, with a nine-piece orchestra conducted by Ryan O’Connell.

The Winter Park Playhouse, in Winter Park, FL is extremely good at producing intimate, sometimes lesser-known, but always high-quality musicals. In my short time here in Orlando, I have had the pleasure of visiting the Playhouse on a few occasions, and each time have been thrilled at my experience – not just because the shows themselves were outstanding, but because the environment radiates warmth, positivity and a true love of the craft of musical theatre. So, it was once again my pleasure to make it out this weekend to see the latest production of The Winter Park Playhouse’s 20th anniversary season – SH-BOOM! LIFE COULD BE A DREAM, and once again I came away with a huge smile and a heartwarming feeling. This latest production is everything audiences have come to expect: a fun and entertaining night of musical theatre, presented by a highly talented cast and imagined by a strong creative team.

The Weathervane Theatre presents the jukebox musical sensation The Marvelous Wonderettes. Sponsored by Bank of New Hampshire, this delightful musical comedy plays in alternating repertory July 6 - August 3 and September 10 - 18, 2022.

​​​​​​​The Ritz Theatre Company kicks off its annual summer Black Box Festival with The Marvelous Wonderettes, a must-see musical trip down memory lane written by Roger Bean and featuring tons of 50s and 60s tunes. The show runs at The Ritz from June 10th through June 26th.

James A. Rocco worked for a dozen years at The Ordway Center for the Performing Arts, producing, presenting, and administering major stage productions. He is also an Award-Winning director, writer, and singer who created Songbook Live, a series of 'edutainment' concerts that chart the evolution of popular music and its effect on contemporary culture. 

The Marvelous Wonderettes comes to the Alabama Shakespeare Festival this month! Written & Created By Roger Bean, and directed & choreographed by Melissa Rain Anderson, performances run May 24–June 26, 2022.

Get launched into Doo-Wop heaven with the nifty and nostalgic Sh-Boom! Life Could Be a Dream at The Wick Theatre in Boca Raton.  Featuring over 25 of your favorite 1950s songs, Sh-Boom! will have you longing for the days of American Bandstand, the Twist and perfect 4-part harmonies.

Port Jefferson’s Theatre Three indeed has a hit with their current offering The Marvelous Wonderettes. Running through March 26th, the adorable production is superbly directed by Long Island theatre vet Linda May. This show hasn’t been on Broadway, per se, but it did have two off-Broadway runs in 2008 and 2016 well as inspiring several spin-offs. There have been many local productions of this show and it’s easy to understand why: it is a fun, nostalgic show.

The Winter Park Playhouse has announced their 2oth Anniversary Mainstage Series of Professional Musicals for the 2022-2023. This new 6-Show anniversary series boasts some of the most popular productions from the past two decades of Winter Park Playhouse professional musical theatre. 

Musical Theatre West presents their first show of 2022! A USO performance from the Andrews Sisters is in jeopardy when they fail to appear shortly before curtain. Thankfully, three earnest stagehands are determined to go on with the show!

From the creators of Life Could Be A Dream and The Marvelous Wonderettes comes the musical Why Do Fools Fall in Love, which will open The TADA Theatre's 2022 'Something For Everyone' season, beginning February 10th.

International City Theatre has been honored with three wins and 20 additional nominations for four different productions by longtime theater reviewer Rob Stevens, who has announced his 35th annual “Robby Awards for Excellence in Southern California Theatre.”
