ZACH Theatre’s rockin’ holiday tradition, A Christmas Carol will return for the eighth year to The Topfer at ZACH playing November 16 – December 31 with MARC POUHÉ returning to the role of Ebenezer Scrooge. Also returning this season is CHANEL HAYNES who will rejoin the show as Ghost of Christmas Present.

What did our critic think? Jarrott Productions has produced another hit. PET DICK is an absolutely hilarious ‘audio documentary’ that will have everyone in stitches. This series is creative, laugh-out-loud funny and uses the world class vocal talents of some Austin’s best actors.

ZACH Theatre has announced Austin’s most rockin’ holiday tradition, A Christmas Carol is returning to The Topfer at ZACH for the seventh year November 24–January 2, 2022, with exciting new songs and new cast members in addition to returning favorites under the direction of Producing Artistic Director Dave Steakley.

ZACH Theatre announces the Summer Concert Series for 2021 “Songs Under the Stars” lineup running June 10 through August 8, 2021. The weekly socially distanced outdoor concerts will feature four concerts over eight weekends running Thursdays through Sundays. Tickets on sale Thursday, April 29 at noon.

There's a silver lining for theatre fans during this pandemic stuff, and it's ZACH's Spring Concert series SONGS UNDER THE STARS. I attended last week, and you have one more weekend to catch Austin theatre icons Judy Arnold, Kia Dawn Fulton, Roderick Sanford, and Janis Stinson for the 'Gospel Down by the Riverside,' segment in the SONGS UNDER THE STARS series.

ZACH Theatre is presenting A Rockin’ Holiday Concert, a socially distanced outdoor holiday concert on The People’s Plaza at ZACH playing December 10 – January 3, 2020. Featuring the vocals of Judy Arnold, CHANEL, Leslie McDonel, Jessica O’Brien, Daniel Rowan, Roderick Sanford, and Kenny Williams.

Ground Floor Theatre announces a fundraiser and live-streamed one-time holiday performance for December 2020. Curbside Cabaret: A Celebration of Black Musical Theatre in America, a virtual fundraiser featuring some of Austin's brightest stars will be on December 11. Alex Garza will bring holiday favorite, Abuelita's Christmas Carol, back for a one-night event December 19, 2020 at Ground Floor Theatre, 979 Springdale Rd.

In light of recent rising COVID-19 cases in the Capital District, ZACH Theatre has decided to pivot this holiday and move A Rockin' Holiday Concert outdoors onto The Plaza at ZACH as part of the Songs Under the Stars series. New traditions will be made when The People's Plaza at ZACH transforms for the spirit of winter with outdoor heaters, hot chocolate and more. Bundle up, holiday cheer will be rockin' on The People's Plaza at ZACH, beginning December 10 through January 3, 2021.

Opening week starred Jill Blackwood and Matthew Redden with “On Broadway.” Celebrating the Golden Age of Broadway.

ZACH Theatre's A CHRISTMAS CAROL has been a holiday tradition in these parts for many years, and just when you think it can't get any better, Director Dave Steakley goes and does just that. He gives us bigger stars, better songs and a more topical message. I've been a fan of the show since I first reviewed it four years ago, but this year is the best ever, mostly due to the casting of Austin theatre legend Marc Pouhé as Scrooge.
