Set in the fragments of a shattered world, this provocative and powerful musical exploration imagines a conversation between Simone and three African-American women. In the aftermath of the 16th Street Baptist Church bombing in 1963, Nina Simone rocked the nation with 'Four Women,' her tribute in song to the four young girls murdered. Scholar and artist Thulani Davis called the song 'an instantly accessible analysis of the damning legacy of slavery, that made iconographic the real women we knew and would become.'

Berkshire Theatre Group has announced alongside municipal authorities and Actors' Equity Association, that Godspell will be extended from Tuesday, September 8th through Sunday, September 20 at the current open-air tent adjacent to The Colonial Theatre in Pittsfield.

The first musical in the United States to be approved by Actors' Equity Association is currently running in the Berkshires! Berkshire Theatre Group's Godspell, which is being presented outdoors in an open-air tent adjacent to The Colonial Theatre in Pittsfield, will run through September 4, with many health and safety guidelines in place as mandated by Actors' Equity Association and local/state government.
