The Maryland Theatre Collective has announced casting and production teams for their next three events of the 2023/2024 season!

At a press conference held at Meridian Hall, the Toronto Alliance for the  Performing Arts (TAPA) announced 228 nominations for the 43rd Annual Dora Mavor Moore Awards, which recognize excellence in professional theatre, dance and opera in Toronto for the 2022-2023 season. Also announced at the press conference was the recipient of the Province of Ontario’s Pauline McGibbon Award.

The Flea has commissioned Jack Fuller, Shelley, Nicole, and Trebien Pollard to stage public performances, along with Flea Artistic Director, Niegel Smith, as part of the theater company’s third annual Juneteenth Public Performances & Symposium.

Brandi Carlile has released her rendition of “Home” from The Wiz. The new song is the latest studio work from Carlile, whose recent producer projects include Shucked writer Brandy Clark’s new album. The Wiz is also set to make its return to Broadway in 2024 with an entirely reimagined revival. It was adapted into a film in 1978 starring Diana Ross.

The Highland Park Players theater company has announced the cast and production team for the upcoming production of the Tony Award-winning musical 'Kinky Boots.' This exhilarating show, filled with toe-tapping music and a heartwarming story, will captivate audiences at the brand new McGrath Family Performing Arts Center, 1100 Laramie Ave, Wilmette, IL. Performances are August 18, 19, 25, 26 at 7:30 pm and August 20, 26, 27 at 2:00 pm.

New Adventures and Sadler's Wells have announced casting for Matthew Bourne's “ROMEO AND JULIET” which will tour to 13 UK venues including a five-week Summer Season at Sadler's Wells, ahead of a major international tour next year.

Prospero Arts and Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) have announced the line-up of cast for The Wizard of Oz – In Concert’s exclusive Brisbane season in QPAC’s Concert Hall from 30 June to 2 July 2023. 

A 2023 Hollywood Fringe Festival production of Now or Later, written by Christopher Shinn, will play four performances only at the Matrix Theatre (Mainstage Space). Directed by Ann Bronston, the cast will feature (in alphabetical order) Cherish Monique Duke, Brendan Farrell, Suzanne Ford, Samuel Garnett, George Kappaz, and Jack McKeever.
