BSMS has announced the five stage managers receiving the 2023 Charlie Blackwell Symposium Scholarships for BIPOC stage managers.

“Single Drunk Female” stars Sofia Black-D’Elia, Ally Sheedy, Sasha Compere, Lily Mae Harrington, Garrick Bernard, and Ian Gomez. Also in season two, Busy Phillips (“Cougar Town”) and Ricky Velez (“The King of Staten Island”) will recur, with Molly Ringwald and Charlie Hall also joining. The show is created by Simone Finch. PEN America has announced recipients of two monumental career achievement honors to be presented live at the 59th Annual PEN Literary Awards, March 2 at The Town Hall.

Acclaimed storytelling nonprofit The Moth has announced details for their annual fundraising gala, Full Bloom: The 2023 Moth Ball. Taking place at Pier Sixty at Chelsea Piers on Tuesday, May 23rd, this year's gathering will honor award-winning comedian and longtime Moth friend and storyteller, Hasan Minhaj. Tickets start at $500 and are on sale now.  

Ben Cameron’s long running, award winning, musical theatre variety series, Broadway Sessions, will return this Thursday night, February 16th,  featuring the cast of & Juliet!  

Applications are now open for stage managers of color to apply for scholarships to the Broadway Stage Management Symposium (BSMS). In partnership with Broadway Stage Managers, Narda E. Alcorn, Lisa Dawn Cave, Beverly Jenkins, Kenneth J. McGee, & Cody Renard Richard, five scholarships for stage managers of color will be awarded for the annual professional development and networking conference for stage managers.

Ben Cameron's long-running, award-winning, musical theatre variety series, Broadway Sessions, returns on February 2nd with its annual Black History Month celebration. The evening will celebrate Black impact, influence, and legacy on Broadway and beyond featuring an all-star cast of Black theatre artists. The night will be  co-hosted by Ben Cameron and Ari Groover (Tina, Little Shop of Horrors).

The 9th annual Broadway Stage Management Symposium will be held on Saturday, May 20th – Sunday, May 21st, 2023 in a truly hybrid event bringing together stage managers in New York City and Online.

Theater Resources Unlimited (TRU) will present an upcoming Producer Boot Camp, Raising Money for Theater 2023: Who, How and When to Ask, reformatted and rethought for virtual presentation, on Saturday, January 28, 2023 from 12pm-7:00pm ET.

Ohio State Murders officially opened last night on Broadway. Starring Emmy, Grammy, and Six-time Tony Award winner Audra McDonald and directed by Tony Award winner Kenny Leon, Ohio State Murders is the first show to play at the renamed and renovated James Earl Jones Theatre.

This holiday season, prepare yourself for sleighing belles, rabid yells, and tidings of joy as Tony Award nominees Justin Vivian Bond and Kenny Mellman debut their hilarious holiday special Kiki & Herb: DO YOU HEAR WHAT WE HEAR? at the Boch Center Shubert Theatre on Thursday, December 1st.

Ben Cameron’s Broadway Sessions, continues this week at it’s new home, The Green Room 42, Thursday, Nov. 17th. Broadway Sessions will welcome cast members from the hit Broadway revival of Funny Girl and more! Cast members slated to perform include Liz McCartney, Leslie Blake Walker, Danielle Kelsey, Masumi Iwai, Miriam Ali and more.

The Green Room 42 has announced its November line-up for in-person cabaret performances. The lineup will feature James Jackson, Jr., Jon-Michael Reese, Natalie Joy Johnson, and more.

Ben Cameron’s Broadway Sessions will continue at The Green Room 42, Thursday, November 3rd. Broadway Sessions will welcome cast members from the Pulitzer and Tony award winning hit A Strange Loop this week. The evening will feature performances by John Andrew Morrison, James Jackson Jr., Zachary A. Myers and up and coming singer Emma Valentine.

Kiki & Herb: DO YOU HEAR WHAT WE HEAR? runs Thursday, December 1 through Sunday, December 11. Hot off the heels of their sold-out run at Brooklyn Academy of Music last year, this tour will be Kiki & Herb's first shows out of NYC since 2007.

Broadway Sessions is proud to present the 6th annual ELPHBALL! A celebration of all things Wicked featuring past and current Wicked cast members. The evening will feature actors who have played Elphaba as well Glinda, Nessarose and Boq! Performers slated to sing include Jennifer DiNoia, Kristy Cates, Christine Dwyer, Alyssa Fox, Brandi Chavonne Massey, Anne Brummel, Amanda Jane Cooper, Allie Trimm, Dawn Cantwell, Mikayla Renfrow, Jordan Barrow and Jess 'JP' Johnson. The evening will also feature performances by 'Rising Star' James Morrison.
