At the E Spot Lounge, upstairs at Vitello's, Studio City on Tuesday April 18, Amy Brothman and Dianne Fraser produced a delightfully eclectic evening of song and storytelling under the supervision of musical director Michael Lavine, titled simply Michael Lavine & Friends. What a treat! Lavine, who lives most of the year in New York, is a director, performer, coach and musical genius par excellence. He has produced a CD also entitled Michale Lavine & Friends, which, like the show, offers rarely heard songs from less familiar Broadway shows. Some of these are musical gems, and for one reason or another, never hit the charts.

With simply a grand piano and a pair of killer stilettos, 4'11' performer Christina Bianco from New York is a total diva...in the best way! With a voice to die for and masterful impressions that brought audiences to their feet (twice), Bianco's show is an ode to our favourite pop, jazz, and broadway divas.

BWW caught up with acclaimed YouTube sensation, Christina Bianco as she prepares to perform her hit solo show DIVA MOMENTS at The Alex Theatre St Kilda and The Hayes Theatre in Sydney. It couldn't be harder to put into words an interview with the effervescent star as she launches into her famous impressions left right and centre but here's what she had to say:

The Broadway Artists Connection (BAC) All Stars Benefit for CAT Youth Theatre on Monday, November 14th (7pm) at the Laurie Beechman Theatre is BAC's biggest & final event of the season!  The evening hosted by Antoine L. Smith (THE COLOR PURPLE) will feature many Broadway favorites with a combined 34 Broadway credits (listed below), BAC's 2016 open mic winners & a performance by the students of CAT Youth Theatre.

Theater Resources Unlimited (TRU) will celebrate its 24th year as a not-for-profit service organization with its annual gala, the TRU Love Benefit. This year's theme is Making Our Gardens Grow, and a stellar lineup of Broadway stars has joined the cast: Bryce Pinkham (The Heidi Chronicles, Tony nominee for A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder), Tony Award Winner and Grammy Nominee Milly Shapiro (Matilda), and more.

An Evening of Classic Broadway comes to NYC's Metropolitan Room as a benefit for The Actors Fund tonight, October 27th at 7PM. Tony Award-winner Daisy Eagan (THE SECRET GARDEN) and leading Broadway performer Sean McDermott join the line-up.  Michael Lavine serves as host and musical director.

Broadway's 40 theatres aren't the only places to catch performances from your favorite stars! A new musical is making its first appearance for one weekend only at the Aurora Fox, and it's tackling something a bit more contemporary. Bookface…the Musical explores how a family can both disconnect and reconnect through social media.

Sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll take center stage in a one-woman play. 'Lucky Chick' depicts the story of Felicity, a New York City teenager who was plucked from the audience of a Grateful Dead concert and became the underage girlfriend of Bob Weir - the guitarist of the band.

From the chic cocktail reception, to the spectacular performance, the lavish dinner and the elegant VIP after-party, Broadway in the Berkshires, Shakespeare & Company's Benefit Celebration was a smash hit! Monday evening Artistic Directors Ariel Bock and Jonathan Croy welcomed a full house at The Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center in Great Barrington. Broadway actor and three-time Emmy Award- Winner Dick Cavett hosted the one-night-only Benefit Performance with verve and witty repartee, and even offered audiences a 60 second lesson in moonwalking. Proceeds from the event benefit the Company's wide-reaching and nationally recognized Training and Education programs.
