'Ladies & Gentlemen, Julie Budd'…….That intro has been said by Frank Sinatra, Ed Sullivan, Johnny Carson, Carol Burnet, Danny Thomas, Marvin Hamlisch, Joan Rivers and Liberace among others. Last night it was Jim Caruso who introduced Julie to a room full of her fans in the Birdland Theater. As Jim pointed out to an excited audience, Julie was one of the first artists he thought of for Birdland's new space.

The York Theatre Company concludes its 25th Anniversary of its acclaimed Musicals in Mufti series celebrating the work of the legendary librettist and lyricist Alan Jay Lerner with the third show in the 2019 Winter series the NY premiere of the Lolita, My Love, with music by John Barry and book and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner, as edited by Erik Haagensen. 'Orphaned Songs for Orphaned Starfish' - a concert of composer Stephen Schwartz (Monday, November 19 at The Cutting Room), was an evening of unsung/cut songs from Wicked, Pippin, Working, and Children of Eden along with a new duet from the stage production of The Prince of Egypt. The concert also included some favorites from The Bakers Wife, Magic Show, Pippin, Pocahontas, Wicked and his opera Seance On a Wet Afternoon. The benefit evening for The Orphaned Starfish Foundation raised over $60,000.

On November 17th at 8 pm, Amas Musical Theatre (Donna Trinkoff, Artistic Producer) will present a very special concert performance of Michael Colby's 'The Algonquin Kid,' his popular memoir of growing up in the legendary hotel. With a singing cast that defines excellence, along with new and revealing stories about Marilyn Monroe Peter Ustinov, Douglas Fairbanks, Jr., and a collection of stunning Hirschfeld drawings, and props from the Hotel itself, the phrase "quintessential New York evening" comes to mind.

Tony Lo Bianco, Lee Roy Reams and Steven Maglio headline a special Veterans Day concert celebrating members of the armed forces and their families at The Triad, 158 West 72nd Street, today November 10 at 3pm. Hosted by co-producer Randie Levine-Miller, "Galaxy of Stars" will donate 100% of its proceeds to the Vetwell Project of Operation Warrior Shield, whose primary mission is to provide support programs for veterans and first responders focusing on "healing the hidden wounds of war." An evening of unsung and new songs as well as hits by Stephen Schwartz will be performed at a Orphaned Songs for Orphaned Starfish a special benefit evening for The Orphaned Starfish Foundation. This one night only show will be Monday, November 19th at 7:00 pm at The Cutting Room, 44 East 32nd Street, NYC. The musical evening will have performances by Stephen Schwartz and Tony Award winners and Broadway stars to be announced. Musical Director is Michael Lavine, and Paul Kreppel is the Concert Director, with Host Scott Coulter and the Creator is Carol de Giere.
