Review: FILMS IN CONCERT: INTERSTELLAR LIVE, Royal Albert Hall

Given only the slightest of insights into what Christopher Nolan intended, Hans Zimmer set about creating a score for Interstellar that he would later call the best work of his career. Hearing it live accompanied by a screening of the film is a sensational experience.

Review: DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS at Seacoast Repertory Theatre

There’s one thing that the Seacoast Repertory Theatre knows how to do very well. It’s transforming their intimate, brick-walled space in Portsmouth into a world that feels ten times its actual size. Their current production of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels—the 2005 musical based on the Steve Martin/Michael Caine film—is a fun, high-energy farce, delivering a cocktail of sophisticated wit and unapologetically lowbrow humor that pleases like a French martini.

Review: PARANORMAL ACTIVITY, Ambassadors Theatre

London is a city built on ghosts. Romans, plague pits, abandoned Tube stations and the collective memory of audiences who still shudder about The Woman in Black. There’s even a theatre supposedly inhabited by a ghost dolphin called Flipper.

Review: CHRISTMAS CAROL GOES WRONG, Apollo Theatre

Written by Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer and Henry Shields, Christmas Carol Goes Wrong sees the return of Mischief’s beloved Cornley Polytechnic Drama Society, which was first seen by audiences in The Play That Goes Wrong over ten years ago. The show actually picks up where the last “Goes Wrong” show, Peter Pan Goes Wrong, left off, with the Cornley crew putting on a production of Charles Dickens’s A Christmas Carol.
