Today we're checking in with The Tank. We chatted with Meghan Finn (Artistic Director) and Danielle King (Managing Producer).

The Tank announced today that their 2020 Virtual Gala will honor Tony Award-winning producer Mara Isaacs. The Gala will be held online on Tuesday May 19 beginning at 6pm and will be hosted by Andrea Coleman.

Ganymede Revisited will receive three virtual readings presented via CyberTank, The Tank's (Meghan Finn, Artistic Director) remote, multidisciplinary variety arts gathering. Conceived and written by Frank J. Avella (Vatican Falls, Lured, Consent) and presented with Avella/Brentan Productions and Ashley Garrett, the readings will be on Tuesday May 5, Tuesday May 12 & Tuesday May 26 at 7:30pm, and will be streamed on The Tank's website as well as The Tank's YouTube page.

The Tank announced today that out of continued concern for the health and safety of their audiences, artists and staff, they will not return to public programming in the 2019/20 season.

The Tank will present three World Premiere productions as part of their Spring 2020 season. All performances will take place at The Tank (312 West 36th Street between 8th and 9th Avenues).

Art House Productions (Executive Director Meredith Burns) is pleased to announce the New Jersey Premiere of WHEN WE WENT ELECTRONIC by Caitlyn Saylor Stevens, with songs by Sarah Frances Cagianese and Caitlin Saylor Stephens at Art House Productions, March 19-April 5. Directed by Meghan Finn, the production was hailed as 'absurdist edginess' and 'taut and brutal' by The New York Times while at The Tank in 2018. Art House's production will feature actors Tiffany Iris and Madelyn Rose Robinson.

The Tank (Meghan Finn, Artistic Director) and Theater of The Apes will present the World Premiere of I Am Nobody, a new musical comedy by Greg Kotis (Tony Award-winner for Urinetown; The Truth About Santa at The Tank), directed by Meghan Finn (Creative Time's Doomocracy, Mac Wellman's The Invention of Tragedy at The Flea) at The Tank (312 West 36th Street between 8th and 9th Avenues), March 5-28.

The Tank (Meghan Finn, Artistic Director) will present the World Premiere of Birthday in the Bronx, written by Paul Hufker (Pedro Reyes' Doomocracy; Manufacturing Mischief at The Tank) and directed by Michaela Escarcega (Resident Director at The Tank) at The Tank (312 West 36th Street between 8th and 9th Avenues), February 20-March 8. Performances will be on Thursday, February 20 at 7pm, Friday, February 21 at 4pm, Friday, February 21 at 7pm, Saturday, February 22 at 7pm, Sunday, February 23 at 7pm, Monday, February 24 at 7pm, Friday, February 28 at 7pm, Saturday, February 29 at 7pm, Sunday, March 1 at 3pm, Monday, March 2 at 7pm, Thursday, March 5 at 7pm, Friday, March 6 at 4pm, Friday, March 6 at 7pm, Saturday, March 7pm, Sunday, March 8 at 3pm, and Sunday, March 8 at 7pm. Zoe Zimin, a Singapore-born and raised, New York City-based actor makes her Flea Theater debut in The Invention of Tragedy. The show makes its world premiere as part of The Flea's Seasons of Anarchy, which includes Perfect Catastrophes: a festival of plays honoring the work of Obie Award-winning playwright Mac Wellman.

The Flea Theater hosted a Mac Wellman Symposium: THE ART OF STACKING THE DECK October 4-6, 2019. The three-day symposium was a rare opportunity for Wellman enthusiasts to gather to share stories and dig deep into the mysteries of Wellman's writing.

The Flea Theater will extend three acclaimed productions in MAC WELLMAN: PERFECT CATASTROPHES. This festival of plays by the influential vanguard playwright Mac Wellman runs through November 1. The final two plays in the festival -- a double bill of short one-acts The Sandalwood Box and The Fez -- open on October 5; and The Art of Stacking the Deck: A Mac Wellman Symposium exploring Wellman's profound impact on the American theater runs October 4 a?" 6.
