Everyday Inferno Theatre Company is proud to open the world-premiere production of Bethel Park Falls this weekend. Following our successful 2016 FringeAL FRESCO production and five-year partnership with the NYC Parks Department, Bethel Park Falls marks Everyday Inferno's sixth annual free show in Central Park. The production, written by Jason Pizzarello (Soho Rep Writer/Director Lab, Classic Stage Company) and directed by Christine Zagrobelny (Flux Theatre Ensemble, The Instigators), is a joyful celebration of community and diversity within our city's public spaces, and of the connections that these spaces can foster.

The Tank (Meghan Finn and Rosalind Grush, Artistic Directors) is turning off the lights for DarkFest 2018, a festival and environmental initiative celebrating innovative performances that utilize self-sufficient and alternative energy sources. Artists are using everything from glow-in-the-dark mouth guards to flashlights and more to shed some light on their work

The Tank is now accepting applications for LIT Council (Akin Salawu, Founder/Creator; and Beto O'Byrne and Jerome A. Parker, Co-creators) a development intensive for male playwrights of color. During their time with the Council (September 2018 through April 2019), writers will hone a play guided by the Bechdel Test to ensure gender equity in storytelling. The program will culminate in a reading workshop of each participant's play, hosted at The Tank (312 West 36th Street between 8th and 9th Avenue). In order to further promote collaboration and communication between genders, each play will be attached to a female director of color, chosen from a group of professionals and mentors, who will be active presences throughout the process.

The Tank (Rosalind Grush and Meghan Finn, Artistic Directors) present the world premiere of COREY AND VANESSA PRESENT AN ALL-FEMALE EDUCATIONAL TOURING PRODUCTION OF OF MICE AND MEN, a new devised play directed by Alex Randrup and created in collaboration with Siena Zoe Allen, Emily Auciello, Samantha Clark, and Bonita Jackson.

The Tank (Meghan Finn and Rosalind Grush, Artistic Directors) in association with Theatre Conspiracy will present the World Premiere of Stray by Tanya Marquardt (Nocturne (an incomplete and inaccurate account of the love affair between George Sand and Frederic Chopin) at Dixon Place), directed by Mallory Catlett (2014 Obie Award for This Was The End with Restless NYC; member of The Collapsable Hole) at The Tank (312 West 36th Street between 8th and 9th Avenues), July 18-28.

The Tank (Meghan Finn and Rosalind Grush, Artistic Directors) will present PrideFest 2018 from June 27-30 in both the 56-seat and 99-seat spaces at The Tank (312 West 36th Street between 8th and 9th Avenues). The festival will feature new shows by Jessie Field, Kev Berry, Matthew Mirliani, Marjorie Conn, Julien Zotique, Julie Moore & Ania Upstill, and Rodrigo Nogueira. The event will honor Randi Berry of IndieSpace, an organization that creates 'permanent real estate solutions for the independent theater community'. IndieSpace was instrumental in finding The Tank's new home, and we'll be celebrating The Tank's home, history, and future with this exciting event. The Tank (Meghan Finn and Rosalind Grush, Artistic Directors) will present the World Premiere of Lizzie Stern's Let's get ready together, directed by Lily Riopelle at The Tank (312 West 36th Streetbetween 8th and 9th Avenues), May 30-June 10. Performances will be Wednesday, May 30, Thursday, May 31, Friday, June 1, Saturday, June 2, Sunday, June 3, Monday, June 4, Wednesday, June 6, Thursday, June 7, Friday, June 8, Saturday, June 9, and Sunday, June 10 at 7 pm. Tickets ($15) are available for advance purchase at www.thetanknyc.org. The performance will run approximately 90 minutes, with no intermission.

The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) is pleased to announce the world premiere of Manufacturing Mischief, a new satirical play by Pedro Reyes that features puppet characters based on Noam Chomsky, Karl Marx, Ayn Rand, Elon Musk and "Tiny Trump." Making its world premiere at MIT's Simmons Hall on April 26 and 27, 2018, the work was conceived as part of Reyes' residency as the inaugural Dasha Zhukova Distinguished Visiting Artist at the MIT Center for Art, Science & Technology. This position was established to support artists in the development of new work through contributions made by MIT's renowned faculty and students.
