The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts's Jerome Robbins Dance Division has selected its new class of Dance Research Fellows. Selected from a robust pool of applicants, these researchers and dance artists will explore the complex relationship between dance and democracy.

Two very special episodes of “Stars In The House” have been announced to celebrate and honor Pride Month and the LGBTQ community.  Tonight, the cast of the groundbreaking series “Queer As Folk” will reunite to talk about the iconic show and what it meant to be a part of the first American drama series with gay characters as leads.

Theatre streaming platform OVERTURE+ has announced the opportunity for 10 regional affiliate theatres to stream BREATHE, the new musical conceived by #1 New York Times bestselling novelist Jodi Picoult (in her theatrical debut) and playwright Timothy Allen McDonald, to local audiences now through Friday, July 2.

When completed, the three act ballet will stand at the intersection of art and activism, opening a dialogue on the challenging issue of race. Using dance with contemporary circus, film, and theatricality Witness puts America's racial landscape into historical context, combats systematically taught racial biases, and imagines hope for a more equitable future.

Today they share another taste of the LP by way of new single “It’s Not My Choice” (feat. Blood Orange) - a soft mid tempo soul jam that narrates the tug of war that is a dysfunctional relationship.

Newly announced shows include Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit with Waxahatchee; Harry Connick Jr.; Indigo Girls with Ani DiFranco; Train with Vertical Horizon; Straight No Chaser; Lindsey Stirling; Pink Martini featuring China Forbes; Renée Fleming with the National Symphony Orchestra; and Yacht Rock Revue.

The film is an Everywoman Studios and Change Content production, in association with Propagate Content in collaboration with CNN Films and HBO Max.

Los Angeles Opera’s presentation of Oedipus Rex by Igor Stravinsky is available online from June 17 to July 18, 2021. The libretto is by Jean Cocteau. The cast includes: Oedipus, Russell Thomas; Jocasta, J’nai Bridges; Creon, John Relyea; Tiresias, Morris Robinson; Narrator, Stephen Fry; Conductor, James Conlon.

A bold and refreshing initiative by USC School of Cinematic Arts claims the title of Welles’s legendary stage production, VOODOO MACBETH, for a full-length film that chronicles the making of the staging. The film is scheduled for showing at the Sedona International Film Festival (June 12th-20th).

“All the world's a stage” and on it, Capital Classics Theatre Company will celebrate its 30th anniversary season this summer with a return to live theatre. The centerpiece of the troupe's beloved Greater Hartford Shakespeare Festival will be an outdoor staging of As You Like It, one of the Bard's most popular romantic comedies.
