Beautiful music was made on Monday, December 6, when hostess/producer Jamie deRoy brought her multi-MAC Award-winning Variety Show, Jamie deRoy & friends, back to Birdland.

Eighteen months later, Jamie deRoy returns to the live venue stage with some marvelous mates and her signature tune.

Last night an audience of friends gathered in Birdland to enjoy an evening with everyones favorite friend… Jamie deRoy.  Jamie presented a group of her Broadway celebrity friends to schmooze and perform at what always turns out to be an exciting evening of world class entertainment. 

As the spring of 2020 was preparing for its big debut, so were the Diamond ladies. Jennifer was preparing to premiere her show LET ME BE ME, and Leia Diamond was getting ready to debut... period. The daughter of Jennifer and her husband Rob was in Las Vegas, waiting to be born by way of a surrogate with whom the impending parents had spent months cultivating a relationship, working together to make the miracle of parenting a reality. When the global health crisis hit the shores of these United States, Diamond's show went the same direction of every other live entertainment opportunity - the back burner. Not so for Leia - she was going to have her inaugural bow, no matter what was happening in world affairs; pandemic or no, Baby Girl Diamond was on her way.

On Monday, November 29, Robbie Rozelle made his Birdland debut with “The Next One,” a carefully curated evening of chaos celebrating his 45th birthday. “The Next One” was created for every person who has ever told the comedian “I can’t make it, but I’ll be at the next one.” Musical direction and arrangements by Yasuhiko Fukuoka, with Wes Bourland on bass, Mike Lunroe on drums, Johnny Wise on violin, Samuel Quiggins on cello, and David Ashton on reeds. 

Robbie Rozelle has been on a steady cabaret climb for the last five years and it doesn't look like he's slowing down.

Jaime Lozano is taking the Lucille Lortel stage with a concert full of stories and songs featuring his 'Familia,' an all-Latinx/Latino/Latine lineup of the best Broadway and Off-Broadway performers including Mauricio Martínez (On Your Feet!), Florencia Cuenca (A Never-Ending Line), Marina Pires (On Your Feet!), and Cedric Leiba, Jr. (Carmen La Cubana); and also an all Latinx band formed by Ruben Rodríguez (bass), Jhoely Garay (guitar) and Joel Mateo (drums).

Bryant Park Picnic Performances' season of free, live performances continued on Friday, July 30 at 7pm with Broadway rising star Adrienne Warren, as part of this season's Carnegie Hall Citywide Series.
