AS YOU LIKE IT, the opening show for the Summer Shakespeare Festival on the outdoor Lowell Davies stage at The Old Globe is a delightful and romantic romp through a forest and is a perfect way to spend a summer night in San Diego.

The Old Globe presents As You Like it, the Bard's fabulously charming romantic comedy, whose heroine is one of his most remarkable creations. The magical forest of Arden is the play's famous setting, where a gallery of eccentric characters comes together to find love, fortune, redemption...and themselves.

As the 2019 Summer Shakespeare Festival kicks off, The Old Globe today announced the cast and creative team with As You Like It, the Bard's fabulously charming romantic comedy, whose heroine is one of his most remarkable creations. Director Jessica Stone's recent body of work-including Barefoot in the Park, Ken Ludwig's Robin Hood!, Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, and Arms and the Man-has had Globe audiences rolling in the aisles. Her Shakespearean directing debut will run June 16 - July 21, 2019 outdoors under the stars in the Lowell Davies Festival Theatre. Tickets start at $30.00 and are on sale to the general public now. Previews run June 16-21 with opening night on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at 8:00 p.m.

After receiving rave reviews during its off Broadway run in 2009, the play arrived on the St. Germain Satge, where it will run through August 27.

Barrington Stage Company (recently voted Best of The Berkshires) set a new record at the opening night of Stephen Sondheim's COMPANY last night. There appeared to be more selfie photos attempted of Aaron Tveit the show's star and cast leaving the stage door of the Boyd-Quinson Mainstage than happen by the ever present throngs in Broadway's Shubert Alley a show. Aaron, who was Bobby in the extraordinary production directed by BSC's founder and artistic director Julianne Boyd, was mobbed by  what seemed like the entire audience asTveit and the cast tried exit the stage door and continue on to the after party at the home of BSC Chair, Minky and Bruno Quinson. 

'THIS' a play by Melissa James Gibson (House of Cards) opened on the St. Germain Stage of Barrington Stage Company last night and had most of the first night audience telling there friends 'don't miss THIS', after leaving the theatre.  Broadwayworld was there for the opening night celebration.  When great ideas, words, and acting are heard in a theatre THIS is what happens. 'THIS' runs thru August 27th.  Already Berkshire theatre lovers are also saying 'don't miss this' about Barrington Stage Companies production of COMPANY starring Aaron Tviet on the Boyd-Quinson Mainstage August 10-Sept 2...Opening night is August 13.
