Though last week wasn't all good news as more theatres announced delays in their reopening plan, or in the case of the Rockettes the official cancellation of the Radio City Music Hall Christmas Spectacular, there were some bright spots in the industry this week - Barrington Stage and Berkshire Theatre Group returned to the stage with Equity approved productions, and we learned that a third may be on its way to the West Coast.

Barrington Stage Company began preview performances last night of its one man show, Harry Clarke, starring Mark H. Dold. Barrington Stage is one of two theaters in the country to have been given the greenlight by Actors' Equity to begin performances in the wake of the pandemic.

As announced on July 6, Barrington Stage Company was one of the first two theatres with Equity-approved plans to resume socially-distanced performance this summer. Now, according to the New York Times, BSC's Harry Clarke, which was set to begin performances indoors next week, will now perform outdoors in accordance with rules from the stage of Massachusetts which prohibit indoor theatre.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Barrington Stage Company has postponed the previously announced 2020 season until 2021. They have, however, come up with an a?oealternate seasona?? that honors live theatre and allows for gathering safely. BSC has devised a plan which follows Social Distancing guidelines to ensure the safety of audience members, employees, and performers alike.
