Fruition Announce Release Of BROKEN AT THE BREAK OF DAY
by Kaitlin Milligan - Dec 5, 2019

Hot on the heels of their recent release, Wild As The Night, Portland-based roots-rock darlings Fruition have just announced another brand new collection of songs, Broken at the Break of Day. The new seven-song album, available January 17th, 2020, was recorded in between tour dates in Fruition drummer Tyler Thompson's newly constructed home studio, and like Fruition's past releases, this collection of songs won't fit into one box. Although it's a challenge to categorize, Broken at the Break of Day feels whole because of the band's dedication to honesty as well as harmony. Working as perfect companion pieces, both Wild as the Night and Broken at the Break of Day will be released together on 180g vinyl in January, giving listeners the option to hear the two newest Fruition releases as a collective body of work in this playlist-focused era. Today, Billboard Magazine premiered “Dawn,” Broken at the Break of Day's first single, calling it “Melodic and harmony-laden.” “Dawn” will be available on all online platforms starting tomorrow, December 6th. Click here to pre-save. View the video for 'Dawn'  below!

Starcrawler Release New Single, Begin Touring Next Week
by Abigail Charpentier - Sep 26, 2019

Starcrawler are a band of misfit rock & rollers for a new generation. The visceral, not-to-be-missed experience of a Starcrawler show perfectly melds a classic arena rock show with the sweat and grit of a club gig, typically featuring frontwoman Arrow de Wildecovered in blood and writhing across the stage in a bejeweled jockstrap and guitarist Henri Cash throwing his guitar and jumping into the crowd to perform. See for yourself as their headline tour kicks off in North America on October 5 in San Francisco and concludes with a homecoming show at Los Angeles' The Fonda on November 9. The run includes two special shows at Third Man Records - Hell Night in Detroit and Halloween in Nashville, TN, and continues later this year throughout the UK, Europe and Japan.

SAM FENDER Shares Final Track, 'Borders,' Ahead of Debut Album Release
by Sarah Jae Leiber - Sep 4, 2019

Sam Fender is pleased to share “The Borders,” the final song to be dropped ahead of his debut album, Hypersonic Missiles, and arguably his most hard-hitting in a record that's littered with them. As has been well-documented, the UK's Fender writes cannily about what he sees and has seen around him. Rolling Stone recently said “The 25-year-old's uncannily mature songs tackle weighty topics without flinching.” “The Borders,” Sam's personal favorite on the LP, is a chest-punching story that looks a little closer to home. At once deeply personal and traumatic, Sam tells a story of two boys growing up together and then going their separate ways. Memories inferred but not directly addressed. It's a storming tune with a powerful story, as so many of Sam's songs are.

JAY SOM Releases Sophomore Album 'Anak Ko' via Polyvinyl Today!
by Sarah Jae Leiber - Aug 24, 2019

Jay Som - a.k.a. Melina Duterte - releases her highly anticipated sophomore album Anak Ko today. The follow-up to her breakout debut album Everybody Works, which received countless year-end list accolades in 2017, Anak Ko is already critically acclaimed itself, with early praise from the likes of The New York Times, NPR Music, Rolling Stone, Pitchfork, and many more. Pronounced Ah-nuhk Koh, and meaning 'my child' in Tagalog, one of the native dialects in the Philippines, this albumwas completed during a week-long solo retreat to Joshua Tree. While much has changed both sonically and personally for Jay Som, now 25 years-old, in the two whirlwind years since her debut, Duterte still recorded, produced, engineered and mixed this album herself at home. However, for the first time, she invited some friends -including Vagabon's Laetitia Tamko, Chastity Belt's Annie Truscott, Justus Proffit, Boy Scouts' Taylor Vick, as well as bandmates Zachary Elasser, Oliver Pinnell and Dylan Allard-to collaborate on additional vocals, drums, guitars, strings, and pedal steel.
