The next chapter in Japanese rock legends Boris' story has arrived; their new double LP LφVE & EVφL is set for release on October 4th via Third Man Records.  This double LP exists as two independent works, encapsulating conflicting connotations that interweave and become intricately entangled with one another, gradually eroding before becoming utterly singular. Continuing to tinker and toil with their sound since the 2017 release of DEAR, Boris have pivoted onward a more organic, non-grid literary style that LφVE & EVφL showcases.  The album's first single, “Love,” is one of the most musically diverse in their career and showcases a snippet of what is to come on  LφVE & EVφL.

Following their performance at Lollapalooza this weekend, SHAED has announced additional dates for their Fall headline tour, including stops in Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, Denver and more. This week, the DC trio's breakout single 'Trampoline' also climbed to #23 at Top 40 as it is officially added to New York's Z100 and breaks 200 Million streams across digital platform

Nashville-based singer-songwriter Ron Pope announces a string of U.S. tour dates, kicking off January 10, 2020 inNashville; purchase tickets HERE. You can find a complete list of dates below. Pope's new LP, Bone Structure, will be released next spring via his own Brooklyn Basement Records. He has released two singles from the forthcoming record thus far, “Take The Edge Off” and “Practice What I Preach,” which premiered via The Boot. 

To kick off the album announcement, Starcrawler share the heavy, swinging and brutally catchy “Bet My Brains” alongside its manic and murderous music video. “That song came from thinking about the tunnel people in New York and Vegas and the Catacombs in France, and the underground village of people who live in the sewers of the L.A. River,” says de Wilde. “I was fascinated with the fact that there is a whole other world happening right under our feet.” Guitarist and vocalist Henri Cash adds: “Arrow and I hadn't even talked about it yet, but I'd already written something about the same thing—about how these people's eyes adapt to pitch-blackness, and they end up going crazy from never seeing the sunlight.” Check out the song and the Jellyclaw-directed video below!

Sam Fender returns to the US this week to perform his latest single “Will We Talk” onThe Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, tonight, Thursday, August 1, before heading to Chicago for his highly anticipated slot at Lollapalooza on Saturday, August 3at 1pm. “Will We Talk” is the fourth track off the forthcoming debut album Hypersonic Missiles, following title-track, “Play God” and breakout single “Dead Boys.” The LP is due out September 13th on Interscope. Additionally, Fender has announced a fall run of North American dates kicking off this September 25 with stops in Seattle, Los Angeles, Toronto, DC, NY and more. Full list of dates below.

Strange Ranger will release their stunning new album Remembering The Rocketsthis Friday, and today they're sharing an advance stream of the record with The Fader. In an accompanying interview, frontman Isaac Eiger discussed the album's apocalyptic themes, saying, 'Climate change isn't just a specter anymore - it's happening, and it's killing people, and it's going to kill a lot more people. Those sorts of forces now actually do cause real, immediate, in-your-face anxiety and terror and fear, and so I think personally that I can write about it in an honest way, because now I feel closer to it.'

Los Angeles four-piece The Paranoyds will release their incredible debut album Carnage Bargain this Fall, and today they share the record's title track. Following the album's first single 'Girlfriend Degree,' 'Carnage Bargain' shows the band delivering scathing lyrical observations under the guise of a quirky pop hook. 'People want things all the time-there seems to be a constant manic need of consuming now more so than ever. 'Carnage Bargain' is about the people higher up wanting to get all this evil work done at a wholesale price,' bassist and vocalist Staz Lindes says.

Acclaimed musician Noah Gundersen has announced the release of his sensual video for 'Lover,' available for viewing today on YouTube. The video had been available exclusively on Apple Music since last Friday. 'Lover' is the title track from Gundersen's fourth album, which arrives August 23 via Cooking Vinyl.

Friday marked the release of Generationals' new album Reader As Detective. The album was featured on both NPR's 'New Music Friday' and Paste's 'Albums of the Week'.  The band recently announced that their upcoming US tour dates will be supported by Pure Bathing Culture, Gemma and Neighbor Lady. 

Psychedelic Turkish folk rock group Altin Gün are set to launch their first-ever U.S. tour. The group recently released their sophomore album Gece via ATO Records. The record has received praise fromNPR, Aquarium Drunkard, MOJO, Uncut, and The Guardian. The Amsterdam-based six-member band are inspired by Turkish folk and psychedelia from the 60s & 70s, re-interpreting Anatolian rock and folk music and opening the doors between traditional Turkish folk songs and psych.

After announcing her forthcoming debut album the masquerade, mxmtoonreturns with new single 'seasonal depression': a track that sees her tackling a complex issue with charm and honesty, all within the confines of a 3 minute song. She refers to her songwriting as 'rhyming diary entries', and it's this personal insight into her life and experiences that has built a remarkable bond between her and her fans.

Further to performing to a jam-packed audience at the John Peel stage at Glastonbury Festival and announcing her hugely anticipated debut album 'Love & Compromise' last month, breakout star Mahalia has unveiled the stunning visual to accompany her summer single 'Simmer' which features Nigerian star, Burna Boy. Directed by KC Locke, the visual was shot in London and showcases Mahalia glowing with confidence - all while Burna Boy attempts to defend the male's perspective.

Posted up at a lemonade-stand-style table, watch Taylor Vick of Boy Scouts celebrate her birthday surrounded by friends in the new music video for “Expiration Date”. Her producer Stephen Steinbrink joins her in the clip, contributing harmony vocals to the song; Madeline Kenney (Hand Habits) directed the video.

Returning for its third US edition Independent Venue Week has announced that next year's event will take place from July 6-12, 2020. With support from Independent Venue Week's partners, including exclusive ticketing partner Eventbrite, the event grew tremendously in its second American iteration, from 20 venues in 20 cities in 2018 to more than 80 venues across more than 50 cities in 2019. 'In Independent Venue Week's second year, our goal was to increase awareness for both the venues and this national initiative,' says Rev. Moose, Managing Partner of Marauder, the producers of the US event, 'Throughout the event we met with independent venue owners and promoters from around the country talking about their specific needs. Moving forward, we hope to have Independent Venue Week be a gathering opportunity for one focused week and a form of support for the rest of the year.'

Portland Shakespeare Project and Proscenium Journal present the fifth annual Proscenium Live Festival of New Work with two days of fresh plays. This year's festival takes place at Portland State University's Lincoln Hall, in the Boiler Room Studio Theater. All performances are free, no ticket reservations are necessary, and seating is general admission.

Jay Som - a.k.a. Melina Duterte - recently announced her highly anticipated sophomore album Anak Ko, and today she shares the record's second single. Following 'Superbike,' 'Tenderness' is a slow-burning highlight off the forthcoming LP. Duterte calls it 'a feel-good, funky, kind of sexy song' in part about 'the curse of social media' and how it complicates relationships.
