Audiences are invited to attend a special talkback with award-winning musical theater writer Sam Carner on Friday, March 13 at the Sunrise Civic Center. The talkback will take place following an 8 p.m. performance of his musical Island Song, staged by Measure for Measure Theatre. This talkback is an ideal opportunity for playwrights, songwriters and performers to learn about working in New York theater. He and fellow songwriter Derek Gregor form the songwriting team of Carner and Gregor. As collaborators, Carner and Gregor are best known for the musicals Island Song and Unlock'd, Measure for Measure Theatre's production of Island Song is the musical's Southeastern Regional Premiere. Island Song will run from Thursday, March 12 through Sunday, March 29.

This poignant, off-beat dramedy follows five 20- and 30-somethings as they take on New York City over the course of a year. These young hopefuls must work through their own complex relationships with ambition, distraction and the desire to connect.

As Broadway's smash hit musical Waitress gets ready to close up shop at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre on Sunday January 5th, we're heading to the diner for a look back at the show's opening night! Later today, Broadway welcomes a brand new musical, JAGGED LITTLE PILL- an exhilarating new musical inspired by the themes and raw emotions laid bare in Alanis Morissette's seminal album of the same name. The show marks the return of Tony Award-winning director Diane Paulus, who brings it straight from its record-breaking, sold-out world premiere at American Repertory Theater last summer, where she has served as Artistic Director since 2008. Since then, five of Paulus' show have transferred to Broadway. Today, we're looking back at the other four!

Valley Youth Theatre (VYT) opens their 24TH production of A Winnie-the-Pooh Christmas Tail, Friday, December 6, at 7:00 pm, at Valley Youth Theatre.  In addition to opening night, public performances include Saturdays and Sundays, December 7, 8, 14, 15 and 22 at 12:30 pm and 3:00 pm, as well as three performances on Saturday, December 21, at 11:00 am, 1:30 pm and 4:00 pm and two performances on Monday, December 23, at 10:00 am and 12:30 pm. The theatre is located at 525 North First Street, in Downtown Phoenix, and ticket prices begin at $17, when purchased as part of a 4-show package.

This week we're spotlighting Nadia DiGiallonardo is currently the music director for the Broadway production of Waitress at the Brooks Atkinson Theater, where she can be found playing and conducting Sara Bareilles' score most nights. She is also the music supervisor for the national tour and international companies of Waitress.

ABC Talent and Casting will present the 2019 ABC Discovers: Los Angeles Talent Showcase on WEDNESDAY, OCT. 16, at the El Portal Theatre for the Performing Arts in North Hollywood, California. Part of Walt Disney Television's ongoing commitment to creating opportunities for undiscovered talent, the showcase features selected participants performing in a one-night showcase for casting directors, talent agents, managers and other industry professionals. In addition, the selected showcase actors are awarded a one-year mentorship with executives from the ABC Casting Department. As part of the mentorship, the showcase actors will be offered on-camera workshops specifically for them to further hone their craft and auditioning skills. Talent will also have access to various ABC executives.

 YouTube today officially kicked off its new strategy of making its original series and specials free with ads by dropping the critically-acclaimed and fan-favorite first season of “Cobra Kai” in front of the paywall for a limited time with season 2 premiering on September 11. Previously, only the first two episodes of season 1 and the first episode of season 2 were available to sample in front of the paywall. Beginning today, fans without a YouTube Premium subscription can binge watch the entire first season of “Cobra Kai.” On Wednesday, September 11, season 2 will premiere in front of the paywall for a limited time with one episode dropping each week. “Cobra Kai” is an international smash with the first episode of season 1 boasting nearly 55 million views and the first episode of season 2 besting the season 1 premiere by 136%, making it the fastest YouTube Original to hit 20 million views in just 6 days.
