West Coast Premiere of CLYDE'S to Open at the Mark Taper Forum in November

Two-time Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Lynn Nottage and director Kate Whoriskey will bring their latest Broadway triumph, “Clyde’s,” a co-production with Goodman Theatre in Chicago to the Mark Taper Forum November 15 to December 18. It recently concluded the Goodman engagement.

The 2nd Annual Antonyo Awards Will Be Presented in October

 Broadway Black presents The 2nd Annual Antonyo Awards, which honors Black theatre artists during the 2021-2022 season. The live, in-person ceremony will be held on Monday, October 10 at the legendary Apollo Theater in Harlem (253 West 125th Street). Awards in 29 competitive categories and five honorary categories will be presented along with performances and guest appearances. 

Contemporary Arts Center Announces Programming for 2022

The Contemporary Arts Center in Cincinnati today announced its lineup of programming for 2022, including group and solo exhibitions featuring local and international artists whose work engages with a variety of contemporary issues, as well as the return of the CAC's five-day annual performance festival, This Time Tomorrow.

Second Stage Theater's production of Lynn Nottage's new play CLYDE'S opened just last night, Tuesday November 23, 2021, at Second Stage's Broadway home, the Hayes Theater (240 W 44th Street at 8th Avenue).

CLYDE'S Will Livestream Final Two Weeks of Broadway Performances

Second Stage is partnering with Assemble Stream to offer simulcasts of its current Broadway production of Lynn Nottage’s play, CLYDE’S, directed by Kate Whoriskey, for the final two weeks of its run, January 4 – 16, 2022, allowing theater fans who aren’t able to attend in person the opportunity to witness a live Broadway performance from home.

The world premiere began preview performances in The Public's Martinson Hall on Tuesday, November 2 and officially opened last night, Wednesday, November 17.

One-Week Extension Announced for CULLUD WATTAH at The Public Theater

The Public Theater announced a one-week extension of the world premiere play CULLUD WATTAH through Sunday, December 12. Written by Susan Smith Blackburn Prize winner Erika Dickerson-Despenza and directed by Lilly Award winner Candis C. Jones, CULLUD WATTAH follows three generations of Black women living through the Flint Water Crisis.

The Los Angeles Philharmonic Association today announced its 2021/22 Humanities projects and festival curators. The LA Phil Humanities program began in 2019/20 as an outgrowth and consolidation of the organization's long-time commitment to curator-driven festivals, visual arts projects, publications and partnerships with area cultural institutions.
