The Green Room 42 Presents: 'An Evening With...' The apprentices of Daughters of Troy announce Daughters Rising, a show featuring pieces written, directed, and performed by them. Daughters Rising features a cast of sixteen performers, and focuses on the work created by the apprentices this year, as well as highlighting difference mediums of art, such as poetry, dance, music, and digital media. The show will take place May 15th at 9:30 pm at The Dramatist Guild Foundation Music Hall.

Orange is the New Black's Amanda Stephen has joined Daughters of Troy as a theatre-making mentor. She is paired with mentee Jordan Tyson, who is currently appearing in Pipeline Theatre Company's Folk Wandering. Daughters of Troy launched its 2017/2018 Apprentice Company last fall.

The American Theatre Wing just presented the 2018 Jonathan Larson® Grants recipients are Jay Adana (music and lyrics), Andrew R. Butler & Andrew Farmer (music, lyrics, and book), Emily Kaczmarek& Zoe Sarnak (music, lyrics, and book), and Mark Sonnenblick(music and lyrics). Four prestigious, unrestricted grants of $10,000 each, as well as additional support in the form of residencies, concerts, and recording grants, totaling over $48,000 were given at a private event at the WNYC Greene Space.

Butler (Finn the Fearless), Joel Esher (PharmaBro: an American Douchical!), Alex Fast (The Drawer Boy), Jo Lampert (Joan of Arc: Into The Fire), Barrie Mclain (Hundred Days), Annie Tippe (Director, Ghost Quartet), and Dominique Toney ('Crazy Ex-Girlfriend'); and lyrics by Allen, Backhaus, Brun, Butler, Esher, Lampert, McLain, and Tippe. Andrew Neisler will direct.

Daughters of Troy announces the 2017/18 Apprentice Company. This marks the second education initiative for the company, following the Summer Apprentice Company. As Daughters of Troy workshops material over the fall, the company aims to foster the development of young artists through the Apprentice Company.

Composer Ray Leslee (Standup Shakespeare, Avenue X) and playwright, actor, HBO Def Poet, Brian Dykstra, have teamed up with Musical Director Kimberly Grigsby (Amelie, Spiderman, Spring Awakening) to present a workshop presentation of a new musical based on the comedy by Moliere. The script-in-hand readings will take place Thursday Nov 16th at The Lark Play Development Center and Friday, November 17th at Manhattan Theatre Club Studios. The presentation will be directed by Margarett Perry.
