Continuing its 40th Anniversary Celebration, The League of Professional Theatre Women (LPTW) is  pleased to announce that Petrona de la Cruz of Chiapas, Mexico has been chosen to receive the 2023  Gilder/Coigney International Theatre Award (GCITA). The GCITA Program was established in 2011 in honor  of Rosamond Gilder and Martha Coigney, two legendary theatre women who chartered a decades-long and enduring course of productive diplomatic relations through the Arts.

'Like any of the heroines I could possibly reference, Kristina Wong embodies all of them in her own fierce amalgamation.  The result is considerably hysterical in the most unpredictable ways.'

 Kristina Wong has signed with CAA in all areas. Her latest production, Kristina Wong, Sweatshop Overlord, is currently playing at the Kirk Douglas Theatre through March 12.

Los Angeles based writer/actor Kristina Wong will kick off the 2023 Kirk Douglas season with her hilarious and heartfelt one-person play, “Kristina Wong, Sweatshop Overlord'.

Longtime En Garde Arts Chairperson and board member Joan D. Firestone is being honored with the creation of a fund in her name. En Garde Arts has raised $100,000 through a group of generous donors. This is a five year endeavor and every year one theatre artist will receive an $18,000 award and will have full freedom with how to use the funds.

Tony Award-winning theatre producer Daryl Roth and playwright Theresa Rebeck (both Co-Chairs of the LPTW Advisory Council) will introduce the 2021 Theatre Women Awards Virtual Gala and speak about their hopes for the future of the industry, as live theatre returns. The event will be presented virtually by the League of Professional Theatre Women on Monday, June 7 at 7pm.

The International Committee of The League of Professional Theatre Women presented its fourth iteration of the Gilder/Coigney International Theatre Award Program through a week-long virtual presentation in February honoring Hanane Hajj Ali of Lebanon.
