MC Theatrical Productions today announced that it will present MIDNIGHT STREET, a dramatic new musical written and directed by Arnold L. Cohen, with music direction by Matt Castle, May 29th - June 22nd at Theatre Row (410 West 42nd Street). The official opening will be on Wednesday, June 5th at 7PM.

The Madison Square Garden Company (NYSE: MSG) celebrates Jerry Seinfeld's 50th show in his residency at the Beacon Theatre with tomorrow's 9:30pm performance. Seinfeld began this overwhelmingly successful residency in 2016, and continued it throughout 2017 before resuming in January 2019. Seinfeld currently holds the record for the most comedy shows at The Beacon, and is catching up to the total performance numbers of other legendary Beacon Theatre mainstays, including Allman Brothers Band and Steely Dan, who have 238 and 60 performances, respectively. Additional performances as part of the Seinfeld residency have been announced through November 2019.

The Garden of Dreams Foundation announced last night that Steve Schirripa is the recipient of the 2019 Garden of Dreams Hero Award. The Hanover Theatre and Conservatory for the Performing Arts is honored to be one of only a handful of New England organizations to receive a Challenge America Grant from the National Endowment for the Arts from a national pool of applicants. The $10,000 grant will support the theatre's Adopt-A-School program. Endowment for the Arts Acting Chairman Mary Anne Carter recently approved more than $27 million in grants as a part of the arts endowment's first major funding announcement for fiscal year 2019. Challenge America grants support projects that extend the reach of the arts to underserved populations of those whose opportunities to experience the arts are limited by geography, ethnicity, economics or disability.

Lionel Richie will take fans on a musical journey when he performs his iconic hits at Encore Theater at Wynn Las Vegas for two nights only, Aug. 9 and 10. The Madison Square Garden Company (NYSE: MSG) announced that legendary New Yorker and comedian Jerry Seinfeld has added two more fall performances to his 2019 Beacon Theatre residency. The newly announced performances, on November 22 at 7:00pm and 9:30pm, are in addition to the six recently added performances in September and October. Tickets for the newly added November shows are on sale now. Limited tickets remain for the previously announced performances.

If a singer/actor/dancer is considered a triple threat, New Mexico transplant David Carter is more like a quintuple threat. In addition to being the technical director at the Santa Fe Playhouse and a huge advocate for making the arts (in particular, performing arts) accessible for all, he translated, served as a dramaturg for, and is currently performing in The Oasis Theatre Company's production of Moliere's The Miser. I was able to pick his brain about his theatrical experience, his translation process, and some other artistic endeavors he currently has in the works.
