OMIGOD YOU GUYS! The songs of Legally Blonde: The Musical just hit the Feinstein's/54 Below stage. On Sunday night, Carrie St. Louis led a cast of Broadway and tour favorites in the music of the 7-time Tony-nominated hit musical.

What good is sitting alone in your room this week? If you don't already have plans to see a Broadway show, come out to see your favorite Broadway stars in a cabaret act instead. Grosse Pointe Theatre invites audiences to the hallowed halls of Harvard Law as it continues its 71st Season with a production of Legally Blonde The Musical. The eight performance runs starts on January 20, 2019, at Pierce Auditorium, located at 15430 Kercheval Ave, Grosse Pointe Park, MI 48230. Parking is free. Complimentary valet is available. In 1948, Grosse Pointe Theatre staged their inaugural show, Clarence by Booth Tarkington at Pierce Auditorium.

UC Irvine's Claire Trevor School of the Arts Department of Drama opens its 2018-19 season, entitled "Against All Odds," with the irresistibly fun musical Legally Blonde at the Irvine Barclay Theatre. Nell Benjamin and Laurence O'Keefe's 2007 Broadway hit, with a book by Heather Hach based on the Amanda Brown novel and movie of the same name, was nominated for multiple Tony Awards and won an award for Best Touring Musical in 2009. This story of Elle Woods' journey, which begins as a quest for love and ends as a story of personal transformation, cleverly embeds its message of empowerment in a pink and rollicking world of music, humor, and double entendre.

Paramount Theatre's production of LEGALLY BLONDE-THE MUSICAL lands the familiar tale of sorority-girl-turned-lawyer Elle Woods firmly in 2018, and it works well. Based on the 2001 movie, the musical premiered on Broadway in 2007, and, unlike some stage adaptations of beloved chick flicks, still resonates in today's post-Weinstein world. A strong female protagonist, working hard to achieve her goals, leaves behind toxic relationships and surrounds herself with people who believe in building each other up. While the narrative is empowering, LEGALLY BLONDE never lets the tone get too serious, with plenty of humor, larger-than-life characters, impressive dance numbers, and all the glitz, glam, and 'Omigod's that one would expect from the women of UCLA's Delta Nu.

Woods comma Elle descended upon the cultural scene wrapped up as Reese Witherspoon in the 2001 film "Legally Blonde." "Legally Blonde 2" followed shortly after. Bloomington's Artistry  Theater at the Bloomington Center for the Arts opened the Broadway version of the film based on the musical's New York 2007 debut, after which the musical was christened with a Laurence Olivier Award for Best New Musical. The music and lyrics by composed by Neil Benjamin and Laurence O'Keefe, Heather Hach delivered a clever book for the production. In the film and the musical, Elle Woods wins the audiences' hearts with her unabashed love of anything pink and plucky confidence that overflows throughout the story.

On Monday, July 23rd, Feinstein's/54 Below was painted pink, as the ladies of MTV's Legally Blonde: The Search For Elle Woods reunited for the first time to celebrate the show's 10 year anniversary. Musicals at Richter (MAR), celebrating its 34th season as the longest-running outdoor theater in Connecticut, kicks off the summer with 'Legally Blonde,' the effervescent and wildly upbeat musical based on the popular 2001 film comedy starring Reese Witherspoon. Staged on the grounds of the Richter Arts Center in Danbury, performances take place outdoors under the stars Friday through Sunday evenings at 8:00 p.m., with additional specially discounted performances on Thursday, July 5 and 12. There is no show on Friday, July 13.
