Two-time Tony Nominee Christine Andreas, Tony Nominee Emily Skinner, Drama Desk Nominees Kerry O'Malley and Jeffry Denman, and two-time Nightlife Award Winner Scott Coulter starred in The Broadway Musicals of 1961 at Town Hall last night, March 11th. The critically-acclaimed new Broadway by the Year Chorus joined them in performing songs from Carnival, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Subways Are For Sleeping, Sail Away, Milk and Honey, and more! The Town Hall, New York's landmark theatre and concert venue continued the 6th Annual Summer Broadway Festival, with Broadway's Rising Stars last night, July 23rd at 8pm. The next generation of Broadway performers were chosen during auditions throughout the spring and come from theatrical institutions across the country, including AMDA, CAP21, Steinhardt, Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, Carnegie Mellon, Marymount and The New School. These young future performers then made their auspicious debut on The Town Hall stage in what has now become regarded as the country's national showcase. Revolting Rhymes is a series of mini musicals based on the riotous and bizarre poetry of Roald Dahl, author of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, James and the Giant Peach and many other classic children's books. Dahl's famous poems take center stage as they are inventively staged with puppets, costumes and original music - taking you on a journey where everything familiar is rarely what it seems.

An intimate production of 'Elegies for Angels, Punks and Raging Queens' will be performed at the Triad Theatre in Manhattan on Mar. 8 to support The Trevor Project. Ryan Berman, a Marymount Manhattan College directing student, and Jason Haft, an NYU student, produce the benefit. The two also direct the evening with Steve Bednasz at the piano. Elizabeth Espinoza stage manages.
