New York Theatre Workshop hosted its 2024 Gala, honoring theater and film visionary Liesl Tommy. The evening’s program was hosted by Nicole Ari Parker, directed by Kevin Cahoon, and feature musical direction by Rick Hip-Flores.

Additional casting has been announced for the upcoming benefit reading of Spare Rib by Winter Miller, hosted by Samantha Bee.  Joining Kathleen Chalfant (Angels in America, The Affair) is Fala Chen (Shang-Chi and Legend of the Ten Rings, Irma Vep), Kelli Giddish (Law & Order: SVU), and Elizabeth Marvel (The Dropout, King Lear on Broadway).

The New York Premiere of Where We Belong, written and performed by Madeline Sayet and directed by Mei Ann Teo, is the latest stop in a nationwide tour produced by Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company in association with Folger Shakespeare Library. Where We Belong began performances on Friday, October 28 and will run at The Public Theater through Sunday, November 27. The Old Globe announced its Arts Engagement 2022 Spring Season, including free performances and programs serving the San Diego community. The season features the monthly performing arts series AXIS on Copley Plaza; Globe Learning professional development workshops; and Studio Youth Programs, which consist of the Pam Farr Summer Shakespeare Studio, Theatre Design Studio, and Creative Youth Studio, offering creative development opportunities to young theatre makers.

Just last night, Atlantic Theater Company celebrated opening night of the World Premiere play The Last of the Love Letters. The Last of the Love Letters is written by and features Ngozi Anyanwu and is directed by Patricia McGregor. The Last of the Love Letters plays a limited engagement through Sunday, September 26th Off-Broadway at the Linda Gross Theater (336 West 20th Street).

The Old Globe has announced the return of Globe Learning, our professional development program for theatre practitioners. Due to COVID-19, Globe Learning was placed on hiatus for the 2020 season.
