FINN Closes 3/7 at NYU Skirball Center

Internationally acclaimed theater ensemble Mabou Mines celebrates 40 years of creating groundbreaking theater with the world premiere of 'FINN', a digital and live-action adventure based on the ancient Celtic legend of Finn McCool opening on Thursday, March 4th (8PM) at Skirball Center for the Performing Arts (566 LaGuardia Place). Conceived & directed by Mabou Mines Co-Artistic Director Sharon Fogarty, and written by Jocelyn Clarke, this original theatrical work blends traditional storytelling and music with large-scale digital technology. Finn McCool, part mortal, part magical, battles his boyhood demons and emerges a young man ready to lead his band of men. Live performers interact with digital animation in a 21st century adaptation of a timeless legend. FINN is produced by Mabou Mines in association with Skirball Center for the Performing Arts, New York University.

THE DIVINE SISTER Closes 3/7 at Theatre for the New City

Theater for the New City is pleased to announce that Charles Busch's new comedy THE DIVINE SISTER will play a limited premiere showcase engagement at Theater for the New City's Cino Theater (155 First Avenue). The developmental production, directed by Busch's longtime collaborator Carl Andress (The Third Story; Die, Mommie, Die!) will play a limited engagement of 24 performances from Saturday, February 6 through Sunday, March 7.

Creede Wins Governor's Arts Award

The towns of Creede and Telluride were honored at a ceremony at the Denver Art Museum on Friday, February 26, as part of Arts Advocacy Day. The annual Governor's Arts Award recognizes a Colorado town or city for their collective efforts to enhance their community and their economy through strategic use of the arts. Governor Ritter joined Creede Mayor Rex Shepperd and Telluride Mayor Stu Fraser in unveiling the awards, which were original artworks by artist Gayle Gerson of Grand Junction.

Hadley Fraser, David Burt, Clive Rowe To Star In THE FANTASTICKS

Up and coming stars Lorna Want and Luke Brady will play the young lovers in the new production of The Fantasticks. They will be joined by a hugely experienced and impressive cast which includes musical theatre favourites David Burt and Clive Rowe in the roles of the two fathers

Composer Scott Alan Returns to Birdland 4/12

Jim Caruso's Cast Party is proud to present the return of composer Scott Alan to Birdland on Monday, April 12 at 7pm. This event is part of the Broadway at Birdland concert series, which showcases performers and composers from the Great White Way. Mr. Alan will be joined by a host of Broadway leading men, all singing his theatrical, pop-infused compositions.

On Monday, February 22, the Broadway at Birdland concert series was proud to present an evening of songs by songwriter/singer Katie Thompson. The cast included Dee Roscioli (Wicked), Matt Doyle (Spring Awakening), Tom Lenk (Rock of Ages), Mariand Torres (Giant), Anne Fraser Thomas (The Grinch) and Erik Sisco (Sing What I Wanna Sing).
