Broadway's smash hit Motown the Musical just marked the production's 500th performance on Broadway last night, June 26 at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. MOTOWN THE MUSICAL, featuring music and lyrics from the legendary Motown catalogue and a book by Berry Gordy, opened on Broadway on April 14th, 2013 at The Lunt-Fontanne Theatre (205 West 46th Street). The producers of MOTOWN THE MUSICAL have announced that Josh Tower (The Lion King, original cast of Ragtime) will assume the role of "Berry Gordy" beginning Today, June 17 at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre.

According to The New York Post, Broadway's MOTOWN: THE MUSICAL went uninterrupted after an apparent suicide, when a man leapt from the W New York Hotel on Friday night, landing 50 stories below on the roof of the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre.

The Jam, an innovative, soul revealing 'play on words' jam session, woven together by original pieces written by Daniel J. Watts (Motown, In The Heights, Memphis, The Color Purple) will take place on Monday, September 9th at Canal Room located at 285 W. Broadway (just south of Canal St.).

BroadwayWorld has confirmed that Felicia Boswell has stepped into the role of 'Diana Ross' in Broadway's MOTOWN, while Tony nominee Valisia LeKae is on vacation. Boswell first began performances earlier this week on August 13, and will remain through September 23 when LeKae returns to the Lunt-Fontanne.

MOTOWN THE MUSICAL's "Jackson 5," led by Raymond Luke Jr. as Michael Jackson, visited Wendy Williams' hit daytime show for a live performance of a medley of Jackson 5 songs and to give Wendy some advice for her upcoming Broadway debut in Chicago. Check out their performance and interview below!

MOTOWN THE MUSICAL stars Brandon Victor Dixon and Valisia LeKae and director Charles Randolph Wright will visit MSNBC's acclaimed nationally syndicated live weekly show "Melissa Harris-Perry" on Sunday morning, June 2 in the 11:30am half hour.
