Amazon Studios announced today that Lili Reinhart (Riverdale) will star in writer/director Richard Tanne's coming-of-age drama and romance film, Chemical Hearts. Based on the beloved novel Our Chemical Hearts by Krystal Sutherland, the film is currently shooting in New Jersey. Chemical Hearts is an Amazon Original produced for Amazon Prime Video. Producers are Page Fifty-Four's Alex Saks (The Florida Project, Book Club) and Tanne, and the film is executive produced by Jamin O'Brien (Eighth Grade) and Reinhart, in her first executive producer role.

ReFrame, a collaborative initiative of WIF LA and Sundance Institute, announced the inaugural class of ReFrame Rise directors at the 2019 Women In Film Annual Gala on Wednesday, June 12 at The Beverly Hilton Hotel. For the second production in their 48th annual season of professional summer theatre, Cortland Repertory Theatre presents the blockbuster stage musical version of the hit Reese Witherspoon movie Legally Blonde. Based on the novel by Amanda Brown and the MGM film, the movie was adapted for the stage by Heather Hach, with music and lyrics by Laurence O'Keefe and Nell Benjamin.

This week, CYN unveils the official video for 'Holy Roller.' The Ally Pankiw-directed video sees CYN leading her devoted followers in a series of rituals against the backdrop of a retro-50s-inspired bowling alley. The video premiered on V Magazine, who championed the song for bringing 'an unexpected grit to her tender persona.' Talking about the video, CYN explains 'The video for 'Holy Roller' is truly a collaboration of all involved resulting in our version of a girl cult with a side of wink,' she continues. 'This video is meant to provoke some thought and definitely meant to make you smile! When I wrote the song, I was trying to relax and not take myself too seriously- the same goes for the video. I was aiming for something true to me, and this video hints at how I was raised and what I believe now.'

The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts and Joe's Pub team up again for the Kimmel Center Theater Residency. Under the guidance of Jay Wahl, Producing Artistic Director of the Kimmel Center, Shanta Thake, Senior Director of Artistic Programs for The Public Theater, and Alex Knowlton, Director of Joe's Pub, the Theater Residency program serves as an host for artists and their collaborators to create and develop music and theater projects. The residency will be held in the Kimmel Center's SEI Innovation Studio from June 18 29 with Public Readings, FREE and open to the public, on June 28 and 29. Readings will be followed by Q&A sessions with the artists.
