The Violin, a new original musical by The Francis Sisters, will hold industry presentations on Wednesday, October 29, and Thursday, October 30, 2025 in New York City.

What better way to celebrate Jane Austen's 250th anniversary than to introduce an admirable musical adaptation of her most beloved book, Pride and Prejudice? Thanks to Lindsay Warren Baker & Amanda Jacobs' AUSTEN PRIDE, we have a near-perfect celebration, beautifully balancing P&P's exquisite comedy and romance.

Critics are heaping praise upon leading actors Olivia Hernandez and Delphi Borich. Hernandez plays author Jane Austen and Borich plays the Pride and Prejudice protagonist Elizabeth Bennet. Both are getting raves for their acting and singing. Broadway World called their vocals are soaring and graceful. Hernandez and Borich sat down with Broadway world to discuss the first stop on their planned eight city tour. They talked about the process of standing this production up at STAGES St. Louis, their previous experiences, and the people who influenced their love of theater.

Among the most highly anticipated theatrical events in St. Louis this summer is the mainstage production at the Tennessee Williams Festival St. Louis (TWSTL.) In celebration of their 10th Anniversary Season, TWSTL is staging William’s seminal work A Streetcar Named Desire.

Edith Wharton's novel The Age of Innocence was published about a week before she was able to vote for the first time in 1920.  The following year, she became the first woman to win a Pulitzer Prize.  Now, playwright Karen Zacarías has adapted Wharton's complex tragedy of manners into Arena's elegant, 3 hour production ably directed by Hana S. Sharif.  Set mostly in New York in the 1870s, Wharton, Zacarías, and Sharif recognize the ways in which the old fashioned social constructs of a still-young country could entrap individuals and crush their inner lives in contrast to the apparent success and prosperity of their day to day.  Wharton's title, ironic a century ago, remains that way today.  If this sounds dour, be reassured that it's often lightened by SNL-worthy Staten Island barbs and hoot-inducing stabs at Washington, DC, where a character briefly resides to avoid a husband in Europe and a clan in New York.
