SoHo Playhouse's Producing Director, Darren Lee Cole, is thrilled to announce the highlights of the upcoming 2019-20 season featuring some of the best plays from around the globe. 

The Hollywood Encore! Producers' Awards (Encores), produced by Combined Artform, returns for its tenth year. The Encores run July 5 through August 31, 2019 at eleven Hollywood venues.

The Vancouver, BC based theater company Reality Curve & New York's Soho Playhouse today announced that they will co-produce a strictly limited engagement of Zayd Dohrn's REBORNING, an unsettling dark comedy that explores love, loss, trauma and the power of creation through the lens of the unusual art of reborning. 

Zions Bank in partnership with Spike150, CRWDA and Ogden Musical Theatre presented Gold Mountain, written by 2017 ASCAP Foundation's Cole Porter Award recipient Jason Ma as a series of semi-staged concert performances at the Regent Street Black Box at The Eccles Theater in Salt Lake City and in partnership with Ogden Musical Theatre, at the historic Peery's Egyptian Theater in Ogden, May 8 - May 11.

Jason Ma and his company of Asian American actors are currently in rehearsal at different venues around Salt Lake City for the upcoming semi-staged concert presentations of his new musical Gold Mountain, which has sold out its Salt Lake City run. Those hoping to catch one of the Spike 150 celebration performances can see this original musical in nearby Ogden.

SoHo Playhouse (Darren Lee Cole, Producing Artistic Director), is proud to announce that the winner of the 2018 Fringe Encore Series Outstanding Production Award, Blanket Fort Entertainments' Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde, will get a six-week run at the SoHo Playhouse (15 Vandam Street) beginning April 17 through May 26, 2019; Opening night is set for Sunday, April 28, 2019. Broadway vet Jose Llana returned for the 20th season of Lincoln Center's American Songbook, four years after his sold-out appearance at the Stanley H. Kaplan Penthouse. Llana performed in The Appel Room at Jazz at Lincoln Center and was joined by his Here Lies Love cast members Jaygee Macapugay, Jeigh Madjus, Renee Albulario and Billy Bustamante on February 1st.

Rap artist, writer, and theater performer Baba Brinkman has been wowing audiences for ten years with his imaginative and award-winning Rap Guide to... series, in which he takes ideas from science and philosophy and presents them in an unforgettable platform: Hip-Hop. The critically-acclaimed series is now running?through?April 9th.

After nearly 100 performances of 16 award-winning productions, SoHo Playhouse's producing artistic director, Darren Lee Cole is proud to announce that Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde, written and performed by Burt Grinstead and Anna Stromberg and presented by Blanket Fort Entertainment, is the winner of the SoHo Playhouse's Fringe Encore Series Outstanding Production Award. As the recipient of this award, Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde will receive a six-week Off Broadway run at the historic SoHo Playhouse (15 Vandam Street). Dates TBA.

On December 27th, rap artist, writer, and theater performer Baba Brinkman will return to the SoHo Playhouse to reprise three of his best-loved shows, Rap Guide to Evolution, Rap Guide to Climate Chaos, and Rap Guide to Consciousness. Brinkman, who has been nominated for two Drama Desk awards and whose work has been described as 'astonishing and brilliant" by The New York Times, is excited to bring these productions back to the stage.

America's Got Talent's Jeffrey Li made his musical theater debut in the developmental reading of Lainie Sakakura (producer/book) and Paul Fujimoto's (music/lyrics) CORNER OF BITTER AND SWEET, a musical adaptation of The New York Times Best Selling novel, HOTEL ON THE CORNER OF BITTER AND SWEET by Jamie Ford at The Playroom Theater in New York on September 17.

Sakakura is presenting an invitation-only developmental reading of Lainie Sakakura (producer/book) and Paul Fujimoto's (music/lyrics) The Corner of Bitter and Sweet, a musical adaptation of The New York Times Best Selling novel, Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet by Jamie Ford, at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, September 17 at The Playroom Theater, 151 W. 46th Street in New York.
