It used to be young Broadway performers rarely did their own shows, at least not in NYC. Some of them found a place-and there are examples to be cited for sure-but it wasn't all that common. The Laurie Beechman Theatre, downstairs at the West Bank, likely hosted the most. The more established music venues, such as Birdland, were for more established performers. While Joe's Pub was established for 'young artists' in 1998, it often didn't recruit from the Broadway stable. Some theater companies would host a pop-up night or series, but it usually wasn't more than that unless the performer would automatically attract a big crowd.

Following last month's smash opening, ScoBar Entertainment has announced that PIANO BAR LIVE! the interactive streaming Piano Bar experience will return to The Duplex for two more shows, Sundays, September 15 and 22 at 6:30pm. Joining host extraordinaire, Michael McAssey at the keys, on September 15, will be Daniel Dunlow, Maggie Wirth, Andre Montgomery, Peter Saxe - Saxe in the City and Bianca DiSarro. THE GREEN ROOM 42 presented a special evening of entertainment for Sekhmet Sisterhood's Night of Broadway on Sunday, September 8 at 7:00 PM. Performers included Milly Shapiro (Hereditary, Matilda), Catherine Brunell (Something Rotten, Les Miserables), Mallory Bechtel (Hereditary, Dear Evan Hansen), Kimberly Marable(Hadestown), Analise Scarpaci (A Christmas Story, Matilda), Laurissa 'Lala' Romain(South Pacific), and emcee for the evening, Terra C MacLeod (Chicago).

An evening of The Green Room 42's servers singing Sondheim is surprisingly satisfying, bringing smiles on a summer night.

THE PERFECT FIT, a new family musical featuring book, music and lyrics by twelve-year-old musical sensation Joshua Turchin made its world premiere this month in a staged developmental production as part of the Rave Theater Festival. The show quickly became the toughest ticket to get for the Rave Theater Festival and sold out the entire run prior to opening.

Directed by Broadway veteran Garth Kravits (Drowsy Chaperone, Gettin' the Band Back Together), The Perfect Fit will run at the Teatro Latea Theater, at the Clemente Soto Velez Cultural Center, 107 Suffolk Street, 2nd Floor.

Last night at The Green Room 42 (570 10th Avenue), Broadway star and recording artist Luba Mason (Chicago, Jekyll & Hyde, How to Succeed, recently earned a Lucille Lortel nomination for her role in the acclaimed Public Theater production of Girl From The North Country) premiered a new Broadway-centric concert, Luba Mason - 5' 10' with the pianist & music director to so many Broadway stars and legendary singers, Billy Stritch!

The Green Room 42 brings the fifth show of 'GR42 Sings' back to its stage!

The notation on Charlie Romo's chart (arrangement) said it best. 'As performed by Bobby Darin' . Instead of the 1960's announcers off stage intro of Bobby at the Copacabana in the 1960's it was Daniel Dunlow up front with his great humor and enthusiasm bringing on the main attraction, Charlie Romo. With the 7 piece band blaring out the the opening up tempo notes of 'Hello Young Lovers' you felt you were on 60th street at the legendary nightclub and not on 42nd street at the Green Room.

Producer The Green Room 42 played host on Friday, June 14, 2019, to the fourth edition variety show of The Early Night Show LIVE! created, written, directed, accompanied, and performed by 12 year old Joshua Turchin. The young performer, writer and composer drew lots of laughs and applause throughout the cabaret featuring music, sketch comedy, improv, and special guests.

Mark William returned, by popular demand, with yet another encore performance of his critically acclaimed, sold-out solo nightclub debut 'Come Croon With Me' on Friday June 7th at The Green Room 42. Putting his own unique, youthful spin on golden age crooner styling, Mark performed a collection of classic tunes from Broadway and The Great American Songbook.
