Lincoln Center Theater, under the direction of André Bishop, has announced it will produce a new musical during its 2019-2020 season. FLYING OVER SUNSET, with a book and direction by James Lapine, music by Tom Kitt, and lyrics by Michael Korie, will feature choreography by Michelle Dorrance, and will begin previews March 12, 2020 and open on Thursday, April 16, 2020 at the Vivian Beaumont Theater (150 West 65 Street). Carmen Cusack, Harry Hadden-Paton and Tony Yazbeck will head the cast with additional casting to be announced at a later date.

BalletX, led by Artistic & Executive Director Christine Cox, is proud to announce that company dancer Stanley Glover is the recipient of a 2019 Princess Grace Award in Dance. The Princess Grace Foundation-USA (PGF-USA) enlisted one of its most illustrious Award winners, Leslie Odom Jr., to announce the winners on August 13, 2019. The Awards will be presented at the Foundation's annual Gala and continue the legacy of Princess Grace (Kelly) of Monaco, who helped emerging artists pursue their artistic goals during Her lifetime. Since 1982, the Foundation has awarded nearly 800 artists with grants totaling over $1 million annually in theater, dance and film. In the presence of His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco, this year's Gala will be held at the Plaza Hotel in New York City on November 25, 2019.

Ted Sperling, Artistic Director of MasterVoices, announced details of the acclaimed ensemble's 78th season, celebrating the joy of choral singing and the power of the human voice to unite, inspire and connect since 1941. Highlights include three major musical presentations at top venues, including a New York premiere, and the World Premiere of a new work, commissioned by the Company. Throughout the season there will be collaborations with leading singers, artists, ensembles and organizations, some who are familiar with and others who are new to the Company.

The Franklin Performing Arts Company (FPAC) has announced an open call for their upcoming production of Roald Dahl's Matilda the Musical choreographed by original Broadway cast member Clay Thomson.

Every day-o at the Winter Garden Theatre, Broadway audiences are getting the fright of their lives from ghosts, demons, and a death-obsessed teenaged girl. In Beetlejuice, the eight-time Tony-nominated musical adaptation of the cult classic, leading players Alex Brightman and Sophia Anne Caruso take creepy to the next level.

Lena Hall is back on the NYC stage, in more ways than one! The star of Bat Out of Hell, currently playing at New York City Center, will sing even more Jim Steinman at Rockwood Music Hall. The Tony winner will bring her acclaimed Obsessed series to the iconic venue tonight, August 19, at 7pm.

The Muny has announced that Broadway talents and Muny audience favorites Mikaela Bennett and Jason Gotay will headline the eighth installment of its off-season concert series, Muny Magic at The Sheldon, November 5 and 6 at 7:30 p.m.

Audiences are getting ready to head to Skid Row this fall! As BroadwayWorld previously reported, Howard Ashman and Alan Menken's classic sci-fi musical Little Shop of Horrors is returning to New York at the Westside Theatre, with previews beginning September 17th and opening night set for October 17th. The production is set to run for a limited engagement through November 24th. The Franklin Performing Arts Company (FPAC) is excited to host a Matilda-themed Dance Master Class with original Broadway cast member Clay Thomson on Thursday, August 29 at the Franklin School for the Performing Arts at 38 Main Street in Franklin, MA. Thomson will be returning to Franklin in the fall to choreograph FPAC's production of Roald Dahl's Matilda The Musical.

This tour-de-force of dance based on the British movie of the same name, will run September 13 a?' November 24 at The Goodspeed in East Haddam, Conn. Manhattan Theatre Club's Stargate Theatre 2019 Sharon Sullivan Company will perform an original work, Sweet Water, next Wednesday, August 14 at 7:00PM, Thursday, August 15 at 7:00PM, and Friday, August 16 at 7:00PM at New York City Center Stage II (131 W. 55th Street between 6th and 7th Avenues). Each performance will last approximately one hour and fifteen minutes including a talkback onstage with the artists. Seating is limited.

Like a bat out of hell, Bat Out of Hell is flying to New York City Center, where the Jim Steinman musical just celebrated opening night, yesterday, August 8, and will play a six-week engagement through September 8, 2019.
