Cygnet Theatre is pleased to announce its full line up for 2022/2023 Season. The season kicks off with the World Premiere of the risqué comedic drama The Little Fellow (Or - The Queen of Tarts Tells All) by one of the nations top produced playwrights (2017-2020) Kate Hamill (Pride & Prejudice); directed by Associate Artistic Director Rob Lutfy.

Theatre Bay Area, one of the largest regional performing arts service organizations in North America, has announced the finalists of the 2019 TBA Awards. The sixth-annual TBA Awards Celebration will take place on Monday, Nov. 4 at the Herbst Theatre (401 Van Ness Avenue, San Francisco).

With these kinds of statistical facts, it can be inferred immigration is certainly on the rise, especially those searching for a safe haven in the supposedly United States who come from countries of violence, persecution, and turmoil of their own. Immigration has always made America great bringing varied values while creating a true melting pot. And as the lyrics say in Lin Manuel Miranda's musical Hamilton, 'immigrants, we get the job done.' Sure, you can point fingers and say I'm a millennial living at home with mom and dad and have no inclination of the outside real world or know the importance of a job, but as a privileged Irish American white male actor, I have witnessed time and time again these hard working immigrants 'getting the job done' at restaurant and customer service jobs to help support their own American dream of simple inclusion and sense of belonging. Jobs which no one truly likes to work. From dishwashers, to construction workers, to asylum seeking students, there is nothing these refugees will do to try to assimilate and make America their newfound home. Such themes were presented at Music Theatre Wichita's 2019 season closer In the Heights also written by Lin Manuel Miranda which ran from August 7th-11th at Century II Concert Hall.

Cast, director and designers have been announced for HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH, the thoughtfully funny and hard-rocking musical by Stephen Trask and John Cameron Mitchell that will close out Theo Ubique's first season in its new home on Howard Street in Evanston.

At the end of its third decade on the cusp of celebrating its 40th anniversary, Moonlight Stage Productions today announced its 2019 season. For its 39th summer, Moonlight will offer three new musicals to its stage, and one treasured revival.

Moonlight Stage Productions took home the most number of awards at Monday night's San Diego Theatre Critics Circle Craig Noel Awards. Moonlight received five awards total, including the coveted award for Best Resident Musical for its 2017 production of "In the Heights." The production of Lin-Manuel Miranda's musical also brought awards to James Vasquez for Outstanding Direction, Carlos Mendoza for Outstanding Choreography, and Elan McMahan for Outstanding Musical Direction. Rounding out Moonlight's awards, Randall Hickman received Outstanding Featured Performance in a Musical, Male for his portray of Ursula, the Sea Witch in "The Little Mermaid."

The San Diego Theatre Critics Circle has announced the nominations for its 16th annual Craig Noel Awards for Theatrical Excellence, which will be presented in a ceremony on Feb. 12, 2018, at the Jacobs Center for Neighborhood Innovation in San Diego.

Moonlight Stage Productions closes its 2017 season with the groundbreaking musical In the Heights, September 13 - 30. With music and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda and a book by Quiara Alegria Hudes, this Tony Award-winning musical broke new ground as it introduced a new generation of Broadway storytellers. Manuel would later go on to bring his megahit show Hamilton to the stage. In the Heights is full of exhilarating dance with a backdrop of salsa, Latin pop sounds, and frequently rapped lyrics described by the New York Times as "an ear-tickling novelty on Broadway."
