Cast, director and designers have been announced for HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH, the thoughtfully funny and hard-rocking musical by Stephen Trask and John Cameron Mitchell that will close out Theo Ubique's first season in its new home on Howard Street in Evanston.
At the end of its third decade on the cusp of celebrating its 40th anniversary, Moonlight Stage Productions today announced its 2019 season. For its 39th summer, Moonlight will offer three new musicals to its stage, and one treasured revival.
Moonlight Stage Productions took home the most number of awards at Monday night's San Diego Theatre Critics Circle Craig Noel Awards. Moonlight received five awards total, including the coveted award for Best Resident Musical for its 2017 production of "In the Heights." The production of Lin-Manuel Miranda's musical also brought awards to James Vasquez for Outstanding Direction, Carlos Mendoza for Outstanding Choreography, and Elan McMahan for Outstanding Musical Direction. Rounding out Moonlight's awards, Randall Hickman received Outstanding Featured Performance in a Musical, Male for his portray of Ursula, the Sea Witch in "The Little Mermaid."
The San Diego Theatre Critics Circle has announced the nominations for its 16th annual Craig Noel Awards for Theatrical Excellence, which will be presented in a ceremony on Feb. 12, 2018, at the Jacobs Center for Neighborhood Innovation in San Diego.

Moonlight Stage Productions closes its 2017 season with the groundbreaking musical In the Heights, September 13 - 30. With music and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda and a book by Quiara Alegria Hudes, this Tony Award-winning musical broke new ground as it introduced a new generation of Broadway storytellers. Manuel would later go on to bring his megahit show Hamilton to the stage. In the Heights is full of exhilarating dance with a backdrop of salsa, Latin pop sounds, and frequently rapped lyrics described by the New York Times as "an ear-tickling novelty on Broadway." The production runs from April 28th - May 14th. Performances are Fridays at 7pm and Saturdays and Sundays at 2pm. VISTA, CA-Producing Artistic Director Steven Glaudini announces the 2015 Winter Season at the AVO Playhouse. The winter season kicks off Moonlight's celebration of its 35th anniversary year with three productions in the historic AVO Playhouse located in the Vista Village. Subscriptions, priced at $76 for three shows, will go on sale September 22. Single tickets, priced from $27-$32, will go on sale November 11.

Producing Artistic Director Steven Glaudini today announces Moonlight Stage Productions' 24th Winter Season at the AVO Playhouse. For the first time, the three-show season will include two musicals along with a classic comedy. "Moonlight and musicals are practically synonymous," Glaudini said. "Our AVO musicals have historically been hugely popular with audiences, so I want to deliver what our patrons look to Moonlight for and that is professionally produced musical theatre. The addition of a second musical will fulfill that promise. But we include a non-musical show to keep the season interesting and to be able to offer something for everyone."
