Over the weekend, Springsteen on Broadway returned, marking the first opening night on Broadway since the shutdown began in March 2020. BroadwayWorld has just learned that the Broadway League will not report weekly grosses for the show, but that they are as happy about Broadway first returning show as the rest of the industry. 

It was a big week in New York theatre as Bruce Springsteen opened a Broadway show for the first time in 15 months to a fully vaccinated crowd. While theatre has continued in various forms throughout the pandemic, seeing the return of a show to one of the major commercial centers of the industry was an important step from an economic and emotional standpoint.

Today, June 26, 2021 marks the opening of Springsteen on Broadway and the re-opening of Broadway since the shutdown in March 2020. Bruce Springsteen is returning to Broadway for a limited run of Springsteen on Broadway performances at Jujamcyn's St. James Theatre (246 W 44th Street). Additional performances will be taking place through September 4.

Bruce Springsteen called in to his SiriusXM channel E Street Radio today to talk about his return to Broadway with SiriusXM hosts Dave Marsh and Jim Rotolo. ‘Springsteen On Broadway’ will return this summer for a limited run of performances at New York City’s St. James Theatre. Shows begin June 26 with additional performances through September 4.
