Next up in Kansas City Repertory Theatre's 2018/2019 season is the multiple award-winning Off-Broadway hit SCHOOL GIRLS; OR, THE AFRICAN MEAN GIRLS PLAY, written by Jocelyn Bioh and directed by KCRep's Artistic Associate/Resident Director, Chip Miller. Bioh's hilarious reimagining of Tina Fey's Mean Girls story is a once joyful and heartbreaking, bitingly funny, and poignant. SCHOOL GIRLS, running February 22 through March 17, 2019, at Copaken Stage, is a loving exploration of the real lives of young African women trying to negotiate the confusion around Western ideas of beauty.

The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey's concludes its 56th season with its sixth and final Main Stage production, The Winter's Tale. Last seen at The Shakespeare Theatre in 2008, Artistic Director Bonnie J. Monte directs this production of Shakespeare's tragicomedic romance. Veteran company members Jacqueline Antaramian, Jon Barker, Erin Partin, John Keabler, Raphael Nash Thompson, Seamus Mulcahy, Patrick Toon, and Ames Adamson are among a cast of 20 actors. In this collaboratively-created play by blossoming theater company TV, the ensemble unpacks the longing one can feel for another time and place, whether real or imagined: childhood, years without war, early human history, a time when everyone enjoyed the outdoors and raised chickens and heard gossip from the neighbors, when strawberries were tiny and sour. With choral odes by Deepali Gupta, this whimsical show hops millennia in its exploration of what once was or never was at all.

Bask in the warmth and enchantment of Italy without leaving Maine during Theater at Monmouth's production of Enchanted April. Elizabeth Von Arnim's resplendent 1920s novel comes to life on stage in this Tony Award-nominated play by Matthew Barber. A special talk back featuring Richard Clark, the Composer, Conductor and longtime friend of Kurt Vonneget will be held after the Saturday, April 28th 2:00 p.m. matinee of Wheelhouse Theater's revival of Happy Birthday, Wanda June at the Gene Frankel Theater, 24 Bond Street.
