Signature Theatre (Paige Evans, Artistic Director; Harold Wolpert, Executive Director) will celebrate the release of the Original Cast Recording of Octet, the critically acclaimed world premiere musical by Residency 5 playwright Dave Malloy, with a special celebration on Monday, January 27th at 6:00pm in The Pershing Square Signature Center Lobby. Charlotte's Off Broadway (Anne Lambert, producer) announced today that rush tickets are now available for the remaining performances of the Off-Broadway premiere of Confidence (and The Speech), the new play, written by Susan Lambert Hatem and directed by Hannah Ryan (Hamilton, An American in Paris) which is playing a limited engagement at Theatre Row (410 West 42nd Street a?" between 9th & 10th Avenues). Previews began on November 14 and the show had an official opening on November 20, 2019. Performances will continue through December 7, 2019. Charlotte's Off Broadway (Producer, Anne Lambert) is very happy to welcome April Armstrong (Ragtime, Carousel) to the company for the Off-Broadway premiere of Confidence (and The Speech), a new play, written by Susan Lambert Hatem and directed by Hannah Ryan (Hamilton, An American in Paris). Ms. Armstrong will portray President Jimmy Carter (replacing the previously announced Denise Burse) for a limited engagement at Theatre Row (410 West 42nd Street a?" between 9th & 10th Avenues). Previews will begin on Thursday, November 14 at 8pm with an official opening on Wednesday, November 20th at 8pm. Performances will continue through December 7th.

Due to popular demand Normal Ave and Leigh Honigman will extend performances for their World Premiere of Of the Woman Came the Beginning of Sin and Through Her We All Die, written by Lily Houghton and directed by Kylie M. Brown at Normal Ave's Medicine Show Theatre (549 W 52nd St, 3rd Floor, New York, NY 10019). Additional performances will be on Thursday, October 24 at 8pm, Friday, October 25 at 8pm, and Saturday, October 26 at 8pm. Previously announced performances will be on Thursday, October 17 at 8pm, Friday, October 18 at 8pm, Saturday, October 19 at 8pm, and Sunday, October 20 at 3pm. This October, Brittany K. Allen will star in the world premiere of her play Redwood at Portland Center Stage at The Armory. In Redwood, a young Black woman's relationship with her white boyfriend is thrown into turmoil when her uncle's exploration of their family's lineage reveals that her ancestors were enslaved by her boyfriend's ancestors. Guided by a hip-hop dance class chorus, this singular American story is about finding a way to live and love in a present that's overpopulated with ghosts.

The Shakespeare Theater of New Jersey welcomes the fall season with a show that is a real crowd pleaser. William Shakespeare's treasured romantic comedy, 'As You Like It' is now being performed through September 29. The show features excellent direction with clever touches by Paul Mullins and a cast that is ideal in their roles.

The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey (STNJ) continues its 57th season, entitled Incredible Journeys, with William Shakespeare's As You Like It. Directed by long-time company member Paul Mullins, this timeless love story with a witty heroine at its center, has captivated audiences for centuries. 

The World Premiere of Rinse, Repeat, a new play written by Domenica Feraud (Betafish) and directed by Kate Hopkins (The Pool Skimmer) has announced a one-week extension at The Romulus Linney Courtyard Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center. Rinse, Repeat began performances on July 16, 2019, with an opening night on July 31, and will now play through August 24, 2019. Tickets are on sale at rinserepeatplay.com.

Rinse, Repeat, a new play written by Domenica Feraud (Betafish) and directed by Kate Hopkins (The Pool Skimmer) celebrated its opening night this week at The Romulus Linney Courtyard Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center.

Perhaps if, like most first attempts at playwrighting penned by a young unknown who is also cast in the leading role, Domenica Feraud's RINSE, REPEAT had a modestly-produced premiere production in a small black box theatre, this reviewer would be more enthused to recommend an interesting work in progress by a new and underrepresented voice.

Signature Theatre and American Theatre will present an in-depth discussion with the design team behind Dave Malloy's Octet, showcasing the creative collaboration involved in bringing this acclaimed chamber choir a cappella musical to life.

Octet is now playing through June 30th in The Romulus Linney Courtyard Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center, but creator Dave Malloy wants to make sure that the new musical lives on far beyond closing night.
