Cast members from the Broadway company will lead the national tour of 2017 Broadway revival of ONCE ON THIS ISLAND!

As a theatre fan, it is rare to watch a musical that I have never listened to before. But when such an occasion presents itself, I jump at the opportunity because there is no better way to experience a show for the first time than to see it professionally.

Children of Eden, a hit musical about love, family and the power of forgiveness, is hitting Aurora Theatre's mainstage from July 18 – September 1! Telling the tale of the Book of Genesis in two acts, this family-friendly masterpiece with book by John Caird and music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz covers the story of creation and the great flood – all while examining the complex love between parents and children. Audiences of all ages will appreciate the musical twist on these famous stories!

Blue, a new work by Jeanine Tesori and Tazewell Thompson, had its world premiere at The Glimmerglass Festival in Cooperstown, New York, this weekend.

'Once upon a time, there was a little ogre named Shrek....' And thus begins the tale of an unlikely hero who finds himself on a life-changing journey alongside a wisecracking Donkey and a feisty princess who resists her rescue. Throw in a short-tempered bad guy, a cookie with an attitude and over a dozen other fairy tale misfits, and you've got the kind of mess that calls for a real hero. Luckily, there's one on hand... and his name is Shrek. Performances July 12th thru the 14th at the Hilliard Darby Theatre in the Hilliard Darby High School, 4200 Leppert Rd., Hilliard, OH. This week's Broadway In Bryan Park performances included Be More Chill, King Kong, Stomp, and Bat Out of Hell!

Disney's Freaky Friday just opened at North Shore Music Theatre. Based on the 1972 novel by Mary Rodgers. It was then made into a movie by Disney in 1976 staring Jody Foster and Barbara Harris, with a less memorable movie remake in 2018. It is now a newly created, fun family musical with all the bells and whistles.

Broadway in Bryant Park will return this summer for its 20th year! 106.7 LITE FM's popular series will bring the best of Broadway and Off-Broadway together for FREE performances, for six consecutive weeks, starting this Thursday, July 11 to Thursday, August 15. New Yorkers and visitors to the Big Apple are invited to come at 11 a.m. every Thursday, beginning July 11 through August 15, with performances running from 12:30 p.m. EST - 1:30 p.m. EST on the Bryant Park Stage.

Freedom Summer is a new musical about the events surrounding the summer of 1964 in Meridian, Mississippi. The show follows the crusade for equality through racism, corruption and violence.
