The Legacy Foundation of Palm Beach County, an extension of the outreach programs of The Palm Beach Pops, today announced the winners of this year's Legacy Scholarships to help them continue music education.

Idina Menzel tells Kelly about her camp and foundation A Broaderway, a 10-day experience in the Berkshires every summer that provides guidance and collaboration for young girls as they develop and perform their art. Idina surprises two teen campers, Vanessa and Briana, with an amazing opportunity - to perform with her at Carnegie Hall!

Pride Films and Plays will present its second annual cabaret celebrating the queer community in Chicago and bringing more visibility to the female/non-binary who love women. Thirty performers will sing music from genres including pop, musical theatre, cabaret, classical, and original works. Performers will also accompany the singers on piano, guitar, ukulele, cello, and other instruments. The complete program will be performed twice -  Saturday, January 25 and Sunday, January 26. Emi Lee Frantz, director and music director for LezSing, announced the lineup of singers today.

The Rhinoceros Theater Festival celebrates its 31st year with six weeks of performances from January 11 - February 23, 2020 at Prop Thtr, 3502 N. Elston Ave. in Chicago. The Steps Beyond Foundation, Steps on Broadway's non-profit organization that connects artists and community through dialogue, performance, and artistic collaboration, announces New Voices, New Works, New Stories, December 8 at 7:00 p.m, a performance lab to bolster and support the choreographic voice. This curated program includes 11 emerging and established artists selected by an esteemed committee to present works in theater, jazz, modern, tap, contemporary and ballet. Each choreographer selected for the lab is granted discounted rehearsal space, free marketing, and the technical tools to cultivate the evening presentation.

The Annenberg Center and NextMove Dance present PHILADANCO's eagerly anticipated holiday tradition, Xmas Philes. A highlight of PHILADANCO's 50th Anniversary season, these performances mark the first time the full production has returned to the Annenberg Center after its commissioning and premiere in 2000, under the inspirational leadership of PHILADANCO's executive and artistic director Joan Myers Brown. Xmas Philes pairs PHILADANCO's colorful contemporary dance with popular Christmas songs, with choreography by Daniel Ezralow (How the Grinch Stole Christmas). Festive, joyous and spiritual, Xmas Philes is uplifting holiday entertainment for all ages and faiths. With a tapestry of holiday music, Xmas Philes mixes traditional and contemporary versions of holiday classics in a modern dance setting with Hollywood flavor. Wacky, funny, and somewhat ironic, Xmas Philes lifts spirits with hilariously memorable moments.

The national tour of A CHRISTMAS STORY: THE MUSICAL, currently playing at the Eccles Theater, is a heartfelt exploration of childhood with a wonderful score brimming with memorable songs.

A Christmas Story, based on the popular 1983 movie of the same title, comes to the Morrison Center for a limited engagement as the second show of the 2019-2020 season. Set in Indiana in the 1940s, we see a simpler time, unpolluted by the violent and somewhat fearful ways of the 21st century. The Morrison Center did a fantastic job setting the stage for a beautiful scene of family, friends, and the frenzy that often happens during the Holidays. While waiting to go into the theatre, I noticed children were there with parents and older couples enjoying date night. There was a happy buzz circulating throughout the theatre; The feeling was contagious and simply put, welcoming. There aren't many musicals that resonate the feeling of community, this one definitely had it.

Broadway vets, Danette Holden, who was last seen in Sacramento as Kitty in The Drowsy Chaperone and in New York City in the acclaimed Off-Broadway production of Cagney, the Musical and Kevin Csolak, currently in Ivo Van Hove's new West Side Story as Arab hitting the Broadway stage December 10th in previews and who just completed shooting Steven Spielberg's reboot of West Side Story as Diesel hosted the 2019 Stangl Stage Cabaret, Hunterdon's Brightest, Home for the Holidays charity event this past Saturday, November 30th at the historic Stangl Stage.
