Global smash hit musical MAMMA MIA! won Best Theatre Production in the 2022 held at the DoubleTree by Hilton hotel at Stadium MK in Milton Keynes on 5 October. 

Tony Award nominee Mark Linn-Baker, will join the company of the revival of The Music Man on Broadway as Mayor Shinn, beginning October 25. As previously announced, Tony Award Winner Jefferson Mays will depart the production on October 23, 2022.

Catherine Russell has a full schedule of performances slated throughout the East Coast and in Europe to finish off the year. Among them include her annual four-night residency at Dizzy’s Club at Jazz at Lincoln Center from September 29 through October 2, with two shows nightly.

Vatican Falls, the controversial play written by Frank J. Avella that closely examines the Catholic sex abuse scandal while telling real survivor stories and exploring the fictional journey of one particular survivor will make its world premiere this Fall in a limited engagement run Off-Broadway.

Capturing one of the band’s first shows back on the road in Autumn 2021, this intimate performance at San Diego’s The Observatory North Park was filmed before the release of their album, Servant of the Mind (Republic Records). The setlist included some of the first live performances of the hit singles “Shotgun Blues” and “Wait A Minute My Girl.”

The official cast recording of the Broadway revival of Meredith Willson’s The Music Man, starring two-time Tony Award, Grammy Award, and Emmy Award-winning star Hugh Jackman as Professor Harold Hill and two-time Tony Award winner Sutton Foster as Marian Paroo, will be released this Friday, September 23 at 10 AM ET.

Houston Grand Opera (HGO) announces the company-commissioned world premiere opera Another City, created by composer Jeremy Howard Beck and librettist Stephanie Fleischmann. Another City will be presented on March 9, 10, and 11, 2023, with performances at the downtown campus of Ecclesia Houston. Bearing witness to the unheard and misunderstood experiences of unhoused Houstonians, the opera presents the collective voices of a city in search of the meaning of home.

Disney Theatrical Productions, under the direction of Thomas Schumacher, and the Fabulous Fox Theatre have announced casting for the St. Louis engagement of Disney's Frozen. From the producer of The Lion King and Aladdin, Frozen, the Tony-nominated Best Musical, will play a 2-week premiere engagement at the Fabulous Fox Theatre beginning Wednesday, November 2 with performances playing through Sunday, November 13.

Based on Disney's 2013 Academy Award-winning animated movie musical of the same name as well as Hans Christian Andersen's 1844 fairy tale, The Snow Queen, Frozen follows two royal sisters named Anna and Elsa. The Shaw's 2022 season comes to a merry close with Charles Dickens's A Christmas Carol and Irving Berlin's White Christmas – two classic holiday tales guaranteed to thaw the frostiest of hearts and make spirits bright in young and old alike.

Gettysburg Community Theatre, the only year-round community theatre in Adams County, will present their Mostly Broadway Cabaret Saturday, September 17, 2022 with a reception starting at 6:30pm and concert starting at 7pm.

The Grand Theatre’s High School Project – the only of its kind in North America – returns to open the Theatre’s 2022-2023 season with Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s Tony Award-winning musical, Into the Woods. The Music Man will end its Broadway run on January 1, 2023. The revival of Meredith Willson’s musical, starring two-time Tony Award®, Grammy Award®, and Emmy Award®-winning star Hugh Jackman as Professor Harold Hill and two-time Tony Award winner Sutton Foster as Marian Paroo, will have played 358 regular and 46 preview performances by the time it takes its final bow.

ST. LOUIS WOMAN honors the enduring legacy of some amazing female artists who put St. Louis on the map with their timeless music, dance and poetry. LAKA will portray legendary artists Josephine Baker, Tina Turner and Katherine Dunham. In her roles she will also present the poetry of Maya Angelou, the song stylings of chart-toppers Fontella Bass and Ann Peebles, and the Gospel classics of the legendary Willie Mae Ford Smith. Most of these women were either born in St. Louis or came here when they were young, with the exception of Katherine Dunham’s who moved here during the height of their career to continue her momentous work. 

In addition to being a world class jazz and blues city, Pittsburgh also boasts a strong roster of soul artists including Johnny Daye, Wild Cherry, Chuck Jackson and Louisiana Red. And though they've only been playing for eight years, The Commonheart will no doubt be included in that aforementioned listing of hometown soul greats.

The new cast has been announced for the global smash hit musical MAMMA MIA! from Monday 10 October 2022 and the extension of its booking period to Saturday 30 September 2023 at London's Novello Theatre, with ticket prices frozen and now on sale.

The Bobby Lees recently wrapped up a European tour that included the Woodstock, N.Y-based band’s first stint in the UK. The four-piece band have several shows coming over the next few months including a free show on Sept. 17 at Rockefeller Center for Indieplaza Fest and an Oct. 9 performance at Aftershock 2022.
