Boy, has the West End missed the wit and sparkle of Kinky Boots! As part of the concert series at Theatre Royal Drury Lane, last night saw the first in two special concert-versions of the show, that served to remind audiences just what they had been missing.

The Columbia Center for Theatrical will host a 50th Anniversary Gala, an evening of music, songs, and laughter on September 21, 2022, with performances by CCTA students, alumni, and special guest appearances by Johnny Holliday and others.

Valley Forge Tourism & Convention Board has announced the return of Arts Montco Week, a celebratory initiative that supports Montgomery County's over 200 arts, culture, and entertainment venues . The festivities will highlight the artists, entertainers, makers, and attractions in the region which normally represent $100 million in positive economic impact, not to mention hundreds, if not thousands, of jobs.

The Downtown Cabaret Theatre has announced the cast and creative team for their upcoming production of RENT. The Pulitzer Prize-winning musical opens September 16 and runs through October 15th at Connecticut's most historic Cabaret Theatre.

Bad Suns share a new single titled “Maybe You Saved Me,” featuring vocals from Lynn Gunn of pop-rock act PVRIS. Produced by Eric Palmquist and co-written by Bad Suns, PVRIS and Andrew Goldstein (Yungblud, blackbear, MGK), the song came easily to the band as they began recording sessions for album ‘Apocalypse Whenever’ released early this year.

Accidental Jacket Entertainment will release the official cast recording of the Broadway revival of Meredith Willson’s The Music Man, starring two-time Tony Award, Grammy Award, and Emmy Award-winning star Hugh Jackman as Professor Harold Hill and two-time Tony Award winner Sutton Foster as Marian Paroo. There is less than a week to go before the three-part concert series presented at Theatre Royal Drury Lane kicks off, starting with Chess the Musical in Concert on Monday 1 August.

Bernard Shaw's brilliant dark comedy The Doctor's Dilemma, the first of the final trio of main season shows, begins previews July 16 at the Festival Theatre. On July 27, Cicely Hamilton's funny and prophetic Just to Get Married begins previews at the Royal George Theatre, while August Wilson's haunting Gem of the Ocean begins previews on August 5 at the Jackie Maxwell Studio Theatre. 

Vatican Falls, the controversial play written by Frank J. Avella that closely examines the Catholic sex abuse scandal while telling real survivor stories and exploring the fictional journey of one particular survivor will make its world premiere this Fall in a limited engagement run Off-Broadway.

100,000 new tickets have been released for the final booking period of the West End production of Life of Pi. Nuwan Hugh Perera, who is currently the alternate Pi, will take over the title role on 7 September 2022 with Chirag Benedict Lobo joining the cast as the new alternate Pi.  

As the temperatures rise fairly quickly in our city, a musical of snowy and theatrical bliss inhabits the Hobby Center. Yes, I am talking about the much anticipated tour of the movie and Broadway hit, Frozen: the Musical. While I was a big fan of the movie, the musical takes the concepts from the film and creates a blizzard of talent and technical grandeur rarely seen from a touring production. 

The Millbrook Playhouse Youth Ensemble will present a production of James and The Giant Peach by Timothy Allen McDonald on the Courtyard Stage on Saturday, July 16 and 23 at 11:00 am and Sunday, July 17 and 24 at 12:00 pm.

She discussed her pre-show ritual with Hugh Jackman, which they call 'carpet chats,' in which they sit down and talk before every performance. Foster also touched on her love of crafting and why she considers herself to be a 'pro-crocheter.'
