The Theater Center announced MAKING IT HAPPEN: 15 MINUTE MUSICALS, a new short-form musical theatre festival at its Times Square venue offering a $5,000 prize and an Off-Broadway stage for emerging writers and composers.

PERFECT CRIME, starring Catherine Russell, celebrated its 39th anniversary at The Theater Center with over 15,547 performances. Russell holds a Guinness World Record for appearing in nearly every show since 1987.

Jon Reinhold joined the Off-Broadway cast of Perfect Crime, on April 2, 2026, stepping in as Inspector James Ascher during Curt Bouril's absence, as the production marks its 39th anniversary.

The Theater Center will present the MAKING IT HAPPEN Ten-Minute Play Festival this April in New York City. The festival, which focuses on new short plays, has opened submissions for playwrights looking to showcase their work. This event provides a platform for emerging talent in the theater community to present their plays in an Off-Broadway setting.

Transport Group will present Liza! at 80: A Celebration in Song and Dance, celebrating the legendary performer’s extraordinary career and 80th birthday.

The Office! A Musical Parody will end its seven-year run in the Jerry Orbach Theater at The Theater Center (210 West 50th Street, 3rd Floor) Off-Broadway. The closing performance is set for Saturday, March 21, 2026.

The Theater Center just announced that Drew Brock Baker has joined the company of NYC’s Longest Running Play, Perfect Crime, celebrating its 39th anniversary this year in the Anne L. Bernstein Theater at The Theater Center. He joins the cast in the role of Lionel McAuley. 

Pied à Terre, a new play by John S. Anastasi, will open Off-Broadway at The Theater Center in February 2026. Directed by Peter J. Loewy, the drama follows two women whose lives collide inside a hidden Manhattan apartment.
