& Juliet is a jukebox musical that premiered in Manchester in 2019 before opening in London’s West End later that year. Created by writer David West Read, with a score made up of pop hits by Max Martin, it reimagines Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet through a modern, feminist lens. The show later transferred to Broadway in 2022.
Review: THE BOOK OF WILL at Torrance Theatre Company
by Shari Barrett
- Apr 9, 2026
With a cast of ten actors portraying more than 26 characters, it was bold choice for the intimate theater. But thanks to Perloff’s direction and choice of actors, anyone with the slightest interest in Shakespeare will find the play and its characters captivating.
Review: FILMS IN CONCERT: INTERSTELLAR LIVE, Royal Albert Hall
by Franco Milazzo
- Apr 7, 2026
Given only the slightest of insights into what Christopher Nolan intended, Hans Zimmer set about creating a score for Interstellar that he would later call the best work of his career. Hearing it live accompanied by a screening of the film is a sensational experience.

Review: HAMNET at Shakespeare Theatre Company
by Roger Catlin
- Mar 23, 2026
It’s a little surprising that in 40 years, that a production from the Royal Shakespeare Company has never before visited Washington’s Shakespeare Theatre Company (though the opposite is true — a Shakespeare Theater Company production of “Love’s Labor’s Lost” played Stratford-upon-Avon 20 years ago).
Review: THE BOOK OF WILL Fills the Bill at Elmwood Playhouse
by Bruce Apar
- Mar 19, 2026
Ms. Gunderson’s ingenious play, directed by Lisa Spielman with her usual standard of excellence, is a marvelous creation, a paean not only to the Bard of Avon but a celebration of the magical potion, the curative powers, of live theater and, yea, of storytelling itself.
