The New York Improv Theater kicks off its opening weekend with a new series of shows at Comedy Village, now located at 352 West 44th Street—just steps from the Majestic Theatre in Times Square. Performances begin nightly at 7 p.m., featuring a rotating lineup of one to four improv teams, delivering a mix of short form, long form, musical comedy, and improvised murder mystery.

Inspired by the mysterious hanging death of 17-year-old Lennon Lacy in 2014 in Bladenboro, NC, this dystopic ghost play follows the interracial couple He and She into the world of The Station, a long ago abandoned rail station waiting room, an in-between place that houses Black souls who left the earth in violent ways and who constantly seek their way home. In 2015, Rose received NYU's Rita Goldberg Prize for The Danger -- an award recognizing the best play by a graduate or undergraduate student.

Five time Obie Award-winning theater company Clubbed Thumb (Maria Striar, Producing Artistic Director; Sarah McLellan, Managing Director; Michael Bulger, Associate Artistic Director) has announced the winners of the seventh Clubbed Thumb Biennial Commission. Playwrights Angela Hanks and Gabrielle Reisman will split the $15,000 award, each also receiving two years of development support. Three finalists were also named: Gracie Gardner, Daniel Glenn and Paul Cameron Hardy, each of whom will receive a $1,000 award and an opportunity to workshop their plays.
